Excellent Canned, Fire Roasted, Diced Tomatoes! OMG! These roasted tomatoes in a can, vs. those that aren't, that are just plain, are the BOMB!!! They just taste "waay" more delicious! I don't know what I've been thinking all these years... I make tons of salsas ALL the time, red, green, orange and everything in between! I've made roasted salsa myself many times, by charring the tomatoes and peppers on the stove top, but never thought of buying the tomatoes already roasted, which saves time and effort, eliminates a step! When time is of the essence, these fire-roasted, diced tomatoes make "all the difference in the world," I just mix them with fresh Serranos, and Voila! Instant, delish, roasted chip chile! The salsa may be lacking the roasted peppers, but the tomatoes more than make up for it, seriously! I don't think I'll ever go back to just plain, diced canned tomatoes! Unless I'm forced to, for product being out of stock or unavailable. These tomatoes are also great to mix in whatever hot dish your preparing, for extra flavor and pizazz, whether Tex-Mex, Mexican, American, Italian, Asian, doesn't matter! I just wish that Amazon would include "free grocery delivery," of all their food items, whether perishable or non-perishable, "particularly" for their Prime members!!! The Amazon Grocery Fire Roasted Tomatoes are one of my favorite pantry staples because these diced tomatoes are so full of flavor with minimal cooking. The fire roasted flavor that Amazon Grocery brings is evident in that it really stands out compared to regular canned tomatoes because of the smoky flavor. The tomatoes are also diced in a great way, nice in color, not mushy, and maintain structure even when cooking, making them excellent for adding to soups, pasta sauce, or even salsa. I especially like how well-balanced the flavor of the tomatoes is, very rich in tomato taste, just the right amount of juice, not watery, not too acidic. One can tell they use high quality tomatoes, and they taste like they just came out of a can, still fresh. Although the packaging does not look like the old Amazon Fresh look, the quality has remained the same. As far as price is concerned, these are an absolute bargain, competing directly with more expensive lines I’ve used in the past. They are a convenient, reliable, and healthy addition to most meals. These are really tasty diced roasted tomatoes that I used in many ways in my kitchen, and they always improve my cooking versus just regular diced tomatoes. The fact these are fire roasted adds a bit more of a flavor, that I want to say is Unami, to my cooking and recipes. These are easy to just grab it and toss into a make together meal. I love that the lid it has a pull tab so I don’t have to dig for a can opener. The texture of these is a little more, hmm… coarse than other diced tomatoes, and a tad bit mushy. That is good to me, because I don’t like tomatoes to be as mushy as you get sometimes. The flavor of these is more bold than regular tomatoes, and helps bring out more of a tomato flavor and things that you want that flavor to be in, plus a deeper flavor. They have less of a metallic taste and other tomatoes from a grocery store. The cans are standard size, and they seem about as dent resistant as any others. These are affordable fire roasted tomatoes, and definitely a repeat buy for my kitchen. I would definitely recommend these. I wish I had cases of these stored away for cooking, but I usually only get four at a time due to my budget. I use them all the time.

Good flavor

…since when do I review a simple, canned tomato product? When it’s THAT GOOD!!! I don’t know about you but I love fire roasted tomatoes and use them on almost a daily basis; unfortunately they can be a bit expensive due to the ‘fire roasted’ component. These are every bit as good as the highest price competitor. Flavor and spicing is great and the texture is nice. No canned taste and fresh tasting devoid of an overly salty flavor. Lots of chunks and I use them so often the difference in price is noticeable. The taste however is NOT! I challenge you to compare them to brand name, higher priced fire roasted tomatoes…

This was my first purchase of this brand but the taste and texture were great. I would recommend.
