Required model, 4 D-cells, hefty.
Required to have this model by the department, there are other models that are less expensive and have plug in recharge. Purchased 4 D-cell rechargable batteries to go with this at the same time, expect to save $ on batteries that way. Powerful beam, good weight to this light. Cannot opine about durability, have not had long enough. Beam has very good adjustment.

Tough as a tank and will not disappoint as a long term investment.
This Maglite ML300L led flashlight is the 4th one of these I have owned. They are virtually indestructible and this particular purchase was for my wife to use when she lets our dog our at night. The menu of available lighting options with the single button switch is amazing. Well worth the investment in my opinion.

SureFire Alternative! However, at a carrying inconvenience.
I bought this light for my after sunset shift delivery driver job. I wanted to get a bright and far illuminating LED powered light that is MADE IN USA ONLY, NO EXCEPTIONS basis. SureFire brand comes to mind but they cost at least $150! Not really budget friendly! So I turned to Maglite. This particular one that I bought is heavy! HEAVY, but can trust your life upon it. It's programmable where I can turn the flashlight into a strobe light for self-defense purposes and also is heavy enough as a baton if need be. Carry this along with .45 ACP G21 pistol and I feel safe doing food and package delivery at night going to random stranger's place of residence. BUDGET FRIENDLY AND MADE IN USA! WHAT MORE CAN YOU ASK FOR?!

BRIGHT!!
We use this for keeping an eye on our 5 dogs at night. We added it to our collection of flashlights including the one with 2 D batteries which we were using and nearly fell over when we turned this one on. We have a very large yard and it lights up very bright all the way to our back fence. Very pleased with it.

Good, but could be more modern.
Quality flashlight, but it takes old fashion D batteries. Let's get some rechargeable technology in here Maglite. It's 2025, we can use some custom battery packs. It feels sturdy. Likely can be used in self defense.

This is a great "Made in the USA" product! High output, 1,000 lumens! Great candela! Long lasting! Common, easy to find batteries! Versatile programmability! Really, get one of these 4D ML300L's, a red cone and a white cone, throw in an 8-pack of D cells, and you will be good to go for just about anything! Walk the dog, changing a tire, lighting up stuff a block away during a storm, whatever! Great product from a great American company! Thanks Maglite! Keep 'em coming!
