Long lasting protection and healing.
Great product that is so important in winter and summer. It won’t protect from the most bitter cold but it provides a layer of protection in some subzero temps, prevents ice balling up between pads, and moisturizes them. It can also protect pads during hot summer walks on hot sidewalks and pavement. And otherwise, provides therapeutic treatment to dried out and cracking pads at any time. Only a very small amount is applied as a thin film on each pad. A jar lasts me a long time with two dogs.

Healed Paw in 24 Hours
My dog had a pad flap injury on one of his front toes. It was bloody and there was some puss and he was limping. I applied this and covered his paw with a sock and vet wrap. The next morning I was literally shocked to find it almost healed. It was not raw at all and the paw pad was starting to grow back. I was super skeptical but this stuff works amazing and is worth the price. It saved me a trip to the vet and the pain of trying to rest my high energy working dog while his foot healed. I have now applied it to all of his paws to help keep them soft and prevent any more injuries.

Soft Supple Paws
I purchased this in 2014 and never opened until this blistering sweltering heat dome we’re having. I apply it at night so his paws will soften and heal as he sleeps and doesn’t put up much of a fuss trying to put it on during the day. I noticed a rough area just past his paws and with just 3 uses his pads are soft and supple. I chose this brand because of the non toxic food grade natural ingredients. The price is a bit high from 18.99 to 25.99 for this size but it does work in what it’s supposed to. When I opened it for the first time it’s still just as fresh and clean looking if I had bought it today. He’s on a grain free diet so he’s never had the crusty frito smelly paws with grained dog food. He’s a 20lb jack corgi mix which usually sheds a lot but with this diet, it’s at least 95% less shedding. Ziwi is all he eats. Expensive but it’s worth not to have the shedding and crusty smelly paws. He now 16yrs and still going with very few health issues and still chase after the squirrels like he was a pup. Mushers has completed his overall well being to help keep him strong.

Works well and a great alternative to dog booties.
I have a papillon so, skinny legs and tiny feet that no pair of booties will ever fit and too hyper to stay cooped up all winter. This was the next thing to try. It was easy to put on her other than she wants to lick it as I am putting it on. It smells lightly like pine sap which isn't a bad thing. I put it on right before we walked outside and it was a great success. She was able to stand the cold and ice melt/salt on her feet for a good 20 minute walk. The only thing I was disappointed in was it does seem to rub off after about 20 to 30 minutes of a walk. I really haven't put much on her, as the directions say to put it on a light layer so that may be the problem. I will try to put more for a longer walk session.I did make the mistake of putting it on her once a distance from the door and ended up with little waxy footprints to the door on the wood floor. It wasn't hard to clean up and isn't any worse than the salt that gets tracked in this time of year so that was no problem other than common sense user error. I will definitely buy more of this when I run out. That is another thing, it seems like this little tub will last at least a couple of winters with my small dog if not longer. Four stars because it rubs off so quickly (it could be it was just too cold at -2) but I might change that if I can apply more and make it last longer. A great purchase for anyone that doesn't like dealing with booties. This was fast, easy and worked!

This stuff is amazing! My pugs paws are already getting better.
This stuff is awesome. I started using it 2 days ago when it arrived. It has already started to heal both of my pugs dry pads. One of my pugs named Princess Leia started losing mobility in her back legs. She met w/the Neurologist here in Boise so we could determine what was going on. She had an MRI and spinal tap to rule out cancer & meningitis and it was determined she had a spinal stroke w/some spinal bruising a couple of months ago. She's been on bedrest for the last six weeks and starts physical therapy next week. I was worried because she is still slipping when she walks on our tile and wood floors even for the limited time she is out of her rolling kennel when she eats and to go out to the bathroom. I've ordered a bunch of different products to help keep her from slipping. I found some toenail grips that were just delivered that had good reviews but I haven't started using them yet. The mushers paw got here 3 days ago and I immediately started rubbing it onto Princess Leia's and our black pug Jax's pads. (I also rubbed some on Jax's nose because I've been using Chapstick on his nose for years but it's never worked great, it helps but not a ton). I can't believe how well this stuff is working. I didn't even realize that my dogs pads were so dry. I used an electric mustache trimmer to trim their paw / feet hairs. Then used the Dremel to file their nails down. After that I started massaging the Mushers Paw into their pads. It was quite relaxing because the smell has a nice scent that reminds me of mint and lavender or something. My dogs enjoyed the "foot massage" and let me do this for about 20 min each. Bits of their pads were crumbling off the first time I rubbed this stuff in. They were so dry they were cracking. I felt awful that I've never even known this was a thing. Within the first day I already noticed that Leia was walking better on the wood floors. Today is day 3, I've rubbed it on both of my pugs feet 2 times a day these first 3 days because I'm trying to hurry and get their feet healed especially to help Leia walk better. It's pretty incredible how much it's helping. She starts physical therapy in 4 days and I feel much more confident that she'll be able to do it as it seems she's already getting stronger since she's not slipping everywhere when she walks. Jax's nose is already better after 3 days then it was after months of rubbing chapstick on his little chapped nose. I would highly recommend this stuff. I never write reviews but I read them like crazy and especially since I've been researching to find things to help my pug walk better after her injury I'm excited to be able to spread the word that it's helping her already and it's helping Jax's cracked nose. I'm keeping this on his feet as well because after meeting w/the neurologist, it can be bad even when younger dogs slip and fall on wood floors so I want to help keep him from falling as much as possible. I'm going to keep reordering this stuff when it runs out. Thanks Mushers Paw! (PS: I'm telling my dogs Neurologist about it so she can share the info w/other pet parents looking for products to help in the dogs recovery).
