This bulb does exactly what it it supposed to. Within a few hours of having it plugged in, even during the day, all of the gnats in the room were gone. Hooray! Using it in my garage, the outdoor flies were a bit smarter, but eventually made their way to the light after dark. The bulb didn't go between modes on an indoor lamp, but it did using a wall switch. Overall, happy with my purchase, and pleased that my bulb arrived pink (not white).

It works good and easy to install but I do have to use the brush it came with a lot to clean the dead bugs out they don’t just fallout easily some are cooked to the bars so with that 4 stars. I guess that’s for living in the south But whatever bug flys in and hits them metal bars are instantly electrocuted!! Some even pop and give a light show!!! Lol I have no regrets seeing them pestering things fry!!!! Lol I do recommend it

I bought this on a lark. I'd been looking for an outdoor bug zapper and decided to give this crazy thing a try. It claimed to be weather-proof and effective. So far, so good. Driving rain and hail and extreme heat don't seem to have caused a problem. Basically, this is bare bulb at my front door and it is doing nicely. The LED light is very bright and has better visibility than our old light. If you want it zap small insects, you need to turn it to the zapper only light. Turn on the switch and then off and on again to cycle to the purple light only. It seems to work well by the amount of dead insects in it. When it looks like there are a bunch of creatures who have joined their ancestors, I turn off the light in the morning and spray it with a power nozzle on my hose. I turn the zapper back on in the afternoon. I expect it only attracts insects at night. If you leave the LED light on at night, the insects pay attention to it and ignore the zapper. This will not kill large flying insects, I haven't seen anything bigger than a mosquito in mine. We don't seem to have as many insects on the porch area since using this light, but it's hard to quantify. We live in a rural farming area and have numerous flying, crawling, walking and slithering creatures visiting in the summer. Though I am glad to feel that I suffer a few less bites on my way in and out of the house after dark. Hopefully the light will weather the winter just as well as our summer.

I ordered the indoor/ outdoor bug zapper lights. Got the order in a timely manner, but did not get exactly what I thought I ordered. Instead received lights that look as if they were meant for a kids room not a porch. They seem to work alright at attracting small insects, just wonder if the bulbs are being used correctly.

Switch on once for the white light, turn off, then switch on again for just the blue light. The first night in, it was just caked with bugs, so it definitely works! Attracting bugs to the porch light next to the door, on purpose, almost seems like we're defeating the purpose...but it's better than just a regular light...

Great light nonetheless

I have a terrible gnat and mosquito problem in my RV because of adjacent swamp. Somehow they get in no matter what I do. I installed this in a lamp and turned all the lights out except the zapper only. About five gnats immediately flew in and I watched them walk all over the inside around the zapper. No zapping. None. I left and came back later and there was one dead gnat. The others were still just buzzing around the inside. Not sure if other reviewers are just getting placebo effect or if I got a dud, but mine absolutely does not work as a zapper. I gave two stars because it does put out a ton of light as a bulb, but I have bulbs. I needed a zapper.***UPDATE 7/17/21***Okay, I gave it a couple of days and updated to three stars. It does kill mosquitoes at least half of the time. It rarely kills gnats or anything smaller than a mosquito. It’s worth keeping as of right now, but we’ll see how it does the next few days.

We have had this for quite a while now and it seems to attract more bugs than it gets rid of. I would not buy it again.

Easiest to install, works instantly! I used to get bombarded with moths and mosquitos at my front door at night. Since installing this Bulb, nothing, not even one Moth or Mosquito! Worth every cent!
