It works for a long camera/power run!
I used all 500ft plus another 200ft and the power cable supplied the power (24vac) to the camera. I doubt it would go that far with a 12vdc system.

Excellent wire
Have use this wire for several wiring jobs on vehicles using LED lights. Pure copper wire not the cheap CCA wire. 18/2,18/3,18/4 wiring is perfect. I will always use this brand. Happy to see that it comes in black and white sheathing. You will not go wrong with this wire.

Exactly as listed
Exactly what I needed to extend a DC spot light.

Pretty decent wire
Overall, a basic wire that can be used for low voltage lighting, speakers, or just about any low voltage purpose indoors. And very affordable compared to other options. I'm using the 18AWG 2-cond wire and would buy it again without hesitation. Some reviews say it doesn't solder well, some say it does. I found it pretty average for what it is, medium gauge wire with a very flexible insulation and jacket. I was soldering at 320 deg C without flexing the wire and didn't notice any melt and little drawing back. The insulation appeared to flex normally once the solder joint had cooled. When I stressed the cable for a tight bend and tried to solder it, the insulation did lose its form. Simply put, solder, cool, then flex, and there's no problem. It's not teflon insulation so it performed as expected. The wire took solder well. There are complaints about the OD of the cable being larger than necessary. OK, it could be smaller. But I like the flexibility, which would be less with a tighter jacket. Since I'm not trying to put multiple runs through a conduit, it's a non-issue to me.The zip string for cutting the jacket was a pleasant surprise since I didn't notice it before I ordered. But the zip string has limited use with the loose jacket. I was using the wire in short lengths and the string would pull out before cutting the shield.
