Raised pH two points!
My RO water was acidic at 5.8 ph. I added this filter kit to my express water system and my ph has now been raised to 7.8 - 8.0 ph. Easy install and compatibility with my express system. Well worth the money as it was half the cost of express brand!

LEAKY FILTER GROWS MOLD!!!
The filter was easy enough to install (I liked that it came with quick connect fittings for both 1/4 and 3/8 tubing), but the low quality plastic of the fittings against the low quality plastic of the filter meant that one or both pieces’ threads bent out of shape upon the first gentle test-fit I did. So, I wrapped the threads well, using premium (Oatey) Teflon pipe tape, cut my filter-to-spout tube, and re-assembled the filter between the two freshly-cut pieces of tubing. All seemed fine and I flushed for 15-20 minutes as directed, and the water tasted pretty good. HOWEVER, the good things end there.Over the next few days, every time I went to use the filtered water, it would spurt and purge the air from the line, as if I had just put it in. And if air is getting in…… that means water was getting out. Out of the filter assembly, which sits in my sink-adjacent kitchen cabinet… made of wood. I redid the Quick connections, ensuring cuts were 90°, i removed and re-applied more Teflon tape to the threaded parts, I silicone’d around the threaded connection points, and gingerly put it all in the cabinet with a drip pan underneath. Fast forward another two days, and the water started spurting again and now had a funky taste. I pulled out the drip pan with the filters, and noticed MOLDY GROWTH AMONG THE FILTER MEDIA, which I’ve shown in the attached pictures, along with large air bubbles!!!!! I immediately shut off the water to the filter system and cut the filter out. Geekpure’s customer support did nothing.

I would not recommend. Here's why
My Apec alkaline filter lasted one year they're a little pricey so I thought I'd go with this one also it was good that they offered 3/8 in adapters to fit with my 3/8 system. The problem I ran into was there was an air gap on the right side after installing new filters and purging the unit turning off your tank and turning on your faucet should release any air gaps throughout the system This one did not it was actually dripping past the seal that I could see through the air gap on the right of a seal and would purge every time in the morning like your water was shut off overnight similar and when you turn it on it just sputters out till it catches up this annoyed me also when I did turn it on I noticed a lot of minerals would come out at one time by the cloudiness of the stream and that annoyed me that it wasn't evenly distributed product is made in China also concern me. The APEC I purchased again through a warehouse deal with the kit that somebody probably returned so spend a little more get a little more made in USA. I used isprings before that water tasted good but was a 1/4inch line only and I had switched to 3/8 Apec upgrade kit for faster water flow. I should be good for another year it's just one person drinking from it and using it for boiling water for pasta. If you look at your bottle water it'll show the ingredients calcium carbonate added This is for flavor otherwise your RO water will taste stripped at least to me. If you have a low alkaline water this will raise it a bit but don't expect it to be like buying alkaline 8.8 water at the supermarket. I have a TDS meter which is accurate I think it is 6 without the alkaline filter.I've written it down somewhere 18 on the TDS meter with. The alkaline meters are not greatly accurate and the ones that send you little packets to calibrate I wouldn't bother with all that They should be calibrated when they built it and I just compare it with an 8.8 alkaline water bottle that I have and whatever the difference is you can figure it out. I've saved lots of money The unit has paid for itself from buying bottled water and also getting leached plastics from the worst man-made chemical that plastic bottle also just an add on don't think BPA free is safe for you look it up but I use a stainless steel mug to drink from. Hope I've helped. One cevate that APEC told me through an email or answer on Amazon in the morning first water used let the water run for about a minute because water has been sitting in that alkaline filter overnight. Also I run the cold water on the faucet at the same time just so old stale water isn't getting back into the system figured it helps with having less contaminants put in your ro system Hope I've helped.

Flavor and alkalinity
Been wanting to add this for a loooong time, a visiting family member made it obvious that its about time.we were used to the RO water but it kinda felt itchy in the throat, but the family member refused to drink the RO water. What a nice addition - so far none of the problems noted by others about it tasting bad when the water sits in the cartridge for long.
