I hadn't had an MRE since 1991 when the government was providing them. They are really good now. They come with a cellulose heater for the main course- just add a little water and it gets steamy. I haven't had one I didn't like from these new menus.This is perfect for excursions into the wilderness... Compact, well-balanced meals. For someone who has never had one- you open the components of the meal seperately- it's easy to keep something in your pocket for later.

I bought this for a two-week long cross-country camping trip this summer. I'd never had an MRE before so I was excited to try it. They were what I expected: salty and filling. They did the job and kept me fed for the duration of my trip. I've give it 5 stars because I only asked for a quick, filling, self-contained meal that I could easily pack for a long trip (I was camping out of the back of my truck and only wanted to bring the ABSOLUTE MINIMUM of stuff). I didn't have any GI tract issues which was one thing I was worried about. Be ready to have a lot of wasted packaging since each food item in each meal is individually wrapped. Bring something sharp to cut the packaging since it doesn't tear easily. Also bring some sort of plate or tray or risk making a mess (I luckily avoided this for the most part...). Good variety of meals; you won't eat the same meal twice. Each meal came with a spoon, moist towelette, and napkins which was enough for me. You wouldn't do any harm bringing your own utensils though if you want something sturdy.

I received the A case, I forgot to look for the option to choose cases, regardless, I am very happy with the A case selection! My previous mre box from another seller was all duplicates and triplicate. This box has none of that, the mre packs are all different, no doubles! I have not tested one but when I do I will update my review to reflect how it was. Packaging all good, no punctures, arrived fast with regular shipping. Will buy again from this seller! Again, fantastic selection!

The real deal, shipped quickly, with 2019 inspect date and the TTI freshness indicator good-to-go. As good as it gets without being enlisted. :-)Edit to add: Actually my order was for the "A" case, I don't know how I got placed in the "B" case group--- but it's the same seller (Ozark) so highly likely the "B"'s will be the same. It could be months before I actually open these, that's the nature of the product.

I'm recently retired from the military after 35 years so I've got plenty of experience eating these. I think they are ideal to have stored around the house for emergencies....you never know what will come your way...most recently the disasters in Puerto Rico, Texas, Florida, etc. Also good for earthquakes and just to throw in your car or survival gear.

I ordered the B-case (2016 menus 13-24) and the case was shipped promptly and arrived in great condition with all the expected menus. The inspection date is as indicated in the product description (2019), the TTI smart label's center dot is nice and bright, and all of the MRE pouches are intact without any pinholes or other irregularities.Looking forward to getting through this case and will be looking at ordering the A and B cases in the future.
