EVO Crop Strutters Construction Cream - Medium Hold Smoothing Hair Cream - Supports and Provides Definition with Medium Shine

For my hair (relatively straight, ~3-4" long "pompadour" style), this product has the perfect mix of hold, malleability and appearance. This has been my go-to hair product for 7 years, after experimenting with around 20 other products through the ages. Here's my hair product criteria: - All-day hold: This holds its height basically all day, and if it starts sagging a quick finger-comb will shape it right back up. I do add some product in the evening if I'm getting ready for a long night out. - Feel: This is not sticky on your hands if you run your hands through your hair once it's dried. It's the absolute best hair product at keeping your hair something your partner will want to run their hands through. - Recoverability: This allows all-day reshaping of your hair. They way it degrades through the day is with a very gradual loss of height. But your hair still adheres to itself and it retains its ability to be re-formed with a finger-comb. It's not like other "pastes", which once they're dry, degrade through decoherence where your hair strands detach and float loose and can't be reshaped (I'm looking at you, American Crew!) - Wet/Dry Appearance: This doesn't look too wet, as long as you use it on mostly-dried hair. If you use it on wet hair, your hair will stay looking wet. How to use: I find this works best on slightly-damp/mostly-dry hair (like 10 minutes after a towel-dry). I use about 1/4 teaspoon, rubbed across my fingers and then finger-combed through the hair, being sure to pull through to the ends of the hair. For extra height hold, twist some chunks of your hair together.

Given the name, I wasn’t sure if it was for my hair or my tractor, but I gave it a try and it’s pretty good…on my hair!

If you are looking for a product to hold your hair in place as you desire and style it in any direction you desire, then this is definitely the product for you. You need VERY LITTLE, so it lasts for quite some time and you just rub the cream between your fingers and smooth out your hair, if trying to get rid of frizz or fly-aways, or shape your strands with your fingers after putting the cream on your hair. Definitely recommend, but warn to only use a small amount, otherwise it can mat down your hair and make it look greasy, but that is not an issue if used properly.

I’ve ordered this product from this seller in the past and it was great. Unfortunately, this time the product was old. To be in the safe side, I placed an order directly from the EVO website - you can tell the difference in the fresh product (on the right - darker and sticky) and the old one (on the left - lighter and creamy). I did use it (was out so didn’t have much choice) but the fresh product is so much better.

I picked this up for my husband as he is always on the lookout for hair products to hold his short hairstyle. There is not much product in the jar, but he only needed to use about a quarter teaspoon to get the desired effect. Overall he really liked this product and the texture it produced. It held well all day without too much stiffness which allowed him to restyle throughout the day. It does produce more of a wet, shiny hold (similar to a pomade but not as greasy), rather than a dry hold. I will say that this does not have much fragrance to it and he prefers hair products that have a bit more scent. If it had more of a scent, it definitely would have been five stars.

How well this works. The very cool thing about this that I was unaware of is that it is rejuvenated by the hair dryer! I’m kinda new at selecting this type of hair stuff so I’m glad I got lucky with this one!
