EZ-DUZ-IT Deluxe Can Opener with Red Grips

Just what I was looking for - a simple, functional can opener that is easy to use. I especially like that the turning mechanism operates smoothly and with minimal effort probably because of its size which provides a comfortable grip.

100% better quality than any Chinese made junk you'll find at Wal Mart. Just like the one we had when I was a kid. So stoked to have found this. Opens every can with no issues; solid quality steel and American made.

Easily the best hand can opener i have bought. Durable and easy to use. Cuts nice and smooth and best of all it’s made in the USA.

The best. Honestly, I went through 8 different can openers from cheap to expensive over the years. This is still the best and lasts forever.

And the ones that do are only effective on <i>some</i> cans, not all.All right. I did my research. I Googled as above; read at least a half dozen articles naming their "10 best" and why, poured through countless Amazon customer reviews.Funny thing. The single brand that showed up more often than any other was the EZ-DUZ-IT.So, why not? For 10 bucks it was worth a try, right?Somebody here complained that the packaging looks like it just came off the wall of an old hardware store where it's been gathering dust since the 1970s. They're not wrong. Mine came mounted on a card covered in retro graphics that wouldn't be out of place in Edith Bunker's kitchen. But I found that kinda charming, and the fact I didn't have to use multiple scissors, knives and pairs of pliers to remove the tool from a plastic packaging bubble was a plus.As you can see from the A/B photo, the EZ-DUZ-IT doesn't have quite the heft, nor the level of ergonomic cladding to accommodate grandpa's arthritic hands as my last tool.On the other hand, it <b>opens the damned cans!</b>And a close look at the mechanics shows similar heft where it counts.So, early going, this is an easy winner.If it falls apart, or begins failing to do the job I'll come back and revise this review but right off the truck? Looks good.
