Extremely good value!
Fantastic seller, product shipped out with tracking info within hours of placing order. This Griffin remote hi-hat stand is an INCREDIBLY good value... you can't get anywhere NEAR this quality at this price point. I owned and used a DW (almost $600 at the time) for years and this, at least on first impressions, is absolutely on par with it. Impressively sturdy construction, buttery smooth action, wide range of tension adjustability, bottom hat seats firmly and well protected, top hat clamp has tons of room for adjusting how loose or tight your prefer it to be, pedal base is way more stout than I had expected, it's built like a tank. The adjustable cams are a really nice feature, the pedal action and response is fantastic, no lag at all. I was a little concerned that the lack of legs would make it feel less stable or allow it to migrate while playing, but that hasnt been an issue at all. Its heavy and has rubber pads or claws you can use depending on the floor surface. So, I actually like the fact that it DOESN'T have legs cuz it takes up less real estate and doesn't crowd the other pedals. Griffin appears to use a slightly more narrow gauge cable than I remember from the DW remote hat stand, but it actually seems to be a bit of an advantage. There's less mass to move, so less latency in the response. Not that I ever had an issue with the DWs pedal response, but this definitely has a nice quick crisp feel. My only question will be long term durability... if it holds up as well as it seems to be built then I'll be even more impressed. I really was hesitant to buy this because it was so cheap and I don't like to cut corners on gear, but I figured even if it sucked, it was cheap enough to be worth giving it a try. EXTREMELY glad I tried instead of forking over $500 - $600 again on a bigger name brand... even if it lasts half as long as my DW, I'd still be ahead of the game to buy another Griffin a couple more times.

15/15 Stars
This is either a SERIOUS bang for the buck, or the 'bigger names' are fleecing their customers. This is cheap, works great, and enables great ergonomics. Why not just play cross like everyone else? Better question, go sit on a traffic cone. Some of us have back issues, shoulder issues, etc. I keep this centered behind my snare but you can put it on the far right as well. The pedal has not stand, which made me hesitant, but it stays up and in place. Haven't even had to put velcro on the bottom. But disclaimer, I dont get very fancy or aggressive with the hihat pedal, so you do with that what you will. But absolutely worth it to buy this over the $300-400 versions out there.

Awesome pedal for the price!
I began doing research for remote hi hat stands a few months ago when I decided to expand my kit. I came across this piece for $120 and I started looking more into it. I was skeptical at first mainly because I was not able to find any drummers who owned this and it cost half the price of other stands by bigger brands (the closest being the pearl rh2000). I asked so many questions all over the Internet, is the cable long enough? Will it be sluggish? Is it good quality? until I bit the bullet and bought one. Well I just set it up with 10" mini hi hats and I must say, having not owned cable stands before, this thing is awesome. It's pretty smooth and extremely durable. I have it clamped on my ride stand on the right side with the pedal on the left. It has adjustable tension which is a great feature and its solid. There are only a couple of problems I've encountered so far. The cable is pretty stiff and bulky, but like I said before I've never owned a cable stand before so I'm not sure if this is a common issue. Even though the tension can be adjusted its still a little sluggish at times, probable something that can be solved with some kind of lubricant on the cable. Over all for the money this product is great so far. It's fun and a great way to expand the drum kit. Great for remote hats for effects or getting more versatility for your main set of hi hats.

Great Remote Cable Hi Hat Stand.
Purchased the Griffin Hi Hat cable and I this turned out better than I thought. A great value. Perfect for my alternate side hat on the rack system. Durable, smooth. and truthfully I like the feel more than My Iron Cobra hat stand. I might just get another one and use on my main Hi Hat side. Great price. This thing is solid. It does what I need it to do. Thank you everyone at GeekStands. I will be ordering more from you.

Excellent Stand
Considering that most remote Hi-hat stands cost over $300 and I have never heard of Griffin, I was skeptical at first. However, this stand is great and does what it needs to do and at a way more affordable price than other options. As others have mentioned, there is no clamp that comes with this stand so you will need to look for something that will work with what you have. The other thing about this stand is that the pedal does not have any legs. Typically, remote hats have support legs on the pedal to prevent sliding. This is not the case with the Griffin remote hat; it only has spurs meaning it will need to be used on a rug/soft floor and will be completely unusable on a hard surface. Perhaps Griffin should consider making a deluxe version of this stand with a clamp and legs. That said, it is well worth the money to make a repositioned hi-hat possible in your setup.

Works the way it's supposed to! Great affordable option compared to the pricey alternatives. The chain came loose once, but it was a quick fix. Just have to Double check all the screws and connections so they're tight!

I'm really happy with this remote hi hat. I can't say whether its comparable to the ones from Pearl, Tama etc... but frankly I could never justify paying the price for those units. This thing comes in anywhere from 1/3 - 1/2 the price and does the same job. I'm a left drummer and now have my hi hat sitting at about 1 o'clock to my snare, and I couldn't be happier or more comfortable playing. I originally had a speed cobra (310 I think) hi hat stand, and it definitely had a smoother response than the remote hi hat does, but it has in no way impacted my playing, especially when compared against the substantial increase in comfort having my hi hat where it is now provides. I've been using mine for 2 weeks and have not had any issues that have prompted me to take this thing apart and lubricate it like some other reviews have mentioned, but if it happens it would be simple enough to do that. Overall, very very happy with my purchase and recommend it to anyone that wants a remote hat set up and can't justify the pricetag of the other brands.

The pedal was okay for the first couple of weeks and then it became noticeably slow. The supplier tried to be helpful and told me to open up the housing above the spring and apply some WD-40. This worked for a couple of days and then the pedal again became sluggish. This time I tried a light mineral oil. No improvement. The action just wasn’t quick enough and was very frustrating. I ended up returning the unit.
