Surgical Steel 4mm Ear piercing Earrings studs 12 pair Mixed Colors White Metal by Caflon, Glass and Surgical Steel

I can't wear what is called 'fashion earrings' my ears get raw and sore after a couple hours. Even ones that are supposed to be hypoallergenic, I react to what ever the earring front is made of. I can wear these because they are all steel. Because they're made for piercing and have to be in the ear for months they are made really well. The large backs don't dig into my ears. In fashion earrings the backs are sometimes small and sharp and don't stay on. I find thicker posts to be more comfortable and they keep my holes large enough to make the easy to see for my old eyes. I prefer bezels over prong set because the stones stay bright. I have 9 piercings in each ear. Clusters of these 4mm and the 3mm look really cute. I'm wearing all yellow topaz colored ones because I can't wait for fall to get here. The colors are bright and sparkly. A bonus is a set of 12 pairs of these costs less than 12 of those itchy fashion earrings. These are 16 guage earrings. If you got pierced at Claire's, those are 20 guage. It's best to wait a year for lobes and 2 years or longer for cartilage before bumping them up to 16 guage. I saw some reviews that showed pictures of earrings in baggies and and a separate baggies of cheap dodgy looking backs. Those are not Caflon, they are not sterile. Send them back!

I am not a fan of yellow gold earrings or jewelry so these are perfect. They do not irate my ears as I am allergic to nickle and these are surgical steel. I love the fact that they lock on so I'm not looking for earrings that have come undone during the night. They are safe for babies and young children as they can not remove the backs and put them in their mouths. I can sleep with these on. They do not irate my ears. I do not use peroxide or rubbing alcohol to clean them. I use only the solution that u can buy for newly pierced ears. I can once again wear pretty colorful earrings in the metal color that I like. I could only get the diamond, green, and gold colored stones at Sally's Beauty Supply store and they are much more expensive per pair. This is a great bargain!! Remember to unlock them from your ears u must grab a hold of the front of your earring with one hand and with your other hand grab a hold of the earring back. Pull forward with the front of earring and pull off back at the same time. like this <---> So in other words u are pulling in two different directions. They then pop off effortlessly. Try it first before putting in your ear and u will see how easy this is to do. Posts are slightly thicker than regular posts so they are great for newly pierced ears or forming great even sized holes while your ears heal. Or like I do and just wear them for everyday earrings as with so many colors u can easily match them to whatever u are wearing.

These were an Excellent value - no sensitivity, cute and versatile. Both my daughter and I were experiencing some sensitivity to other earrings (I had sensitivity even to my white gold earrings if I had not worn them in a while.) So I wanted to see how we did with surgical steel studs. We are not having any sensitivity to these. They are cute and small (true to their description 4mm) - perfect for nighttime or everyday casual wear. Having multiple colors is really nice. I thought I would not be comfortable in these unless I took the modest point off the end, but they are very comfortable for me. Even when sleeping I do not notice the point. I priced out surgical steel earrings and for the price I wouldn't hesitate if you are looking for a variety of surgical steel earrings for a great price. As other reviewers had noted, these come in sterilized packs for ear piercing, but we just took them out and used them as earrings.

UPDATE: My daughter has been wearing these for over a week with no problems!! So glad to find earrings she loves that don't irritate her ears after one day. And she was thrilled to have all the colors. My nine year old was having reactions to other metals, and I knew surgical steel would be good for her, as she was wearing her surg steel starter earrings with no issues. There aren't many options out there, so glad I found these! She has not complained about the size, although I maybe would have ordered the 5mm instead if I'd seen them in person first. A little small but just right for my nine year old. Regarding the colors, only the "garnet" "emerald" and "amethyst" are so dark that you don't really see much color. The others are fine and the lightest colors look best. There are three blues, a yellow, a very light green, pink, white, and beige(?) that all look good. Plenty of good color options for a great price and no sensitivity issues.

Very happy with these hot 12 pairs for the cost of 1 at my local store.

I was pleased with the earings. Like the variety of stones. Love mixing it up as have 3 holes in each ear.

These are really lovely earrings. I like the different colours as they go with anything you wear.
