After looking at some eye-wateringly expensive custom dog boxes for our XL-breed puppy, we decided to give this a go. She’d outgrown 2 airline-style crates by 6months and was not going to be comfortable crammed into the Ferplast Atlas 40 on a long road trip. It has proven to be a great choice for us. Pros: the frame is sturdy and coated metal, not plastic. It’s also easy to assemble and lightweight, so very handy to move into and out of our car boot when I need the space for groceries. Or when staying away, we’ve brought it into the hotel room or holiday cottage as her crate. She’s comfortable enough to snore away for hours in it, and it has not warped or bent. The handles are useful, because though it’s lightweight, at this size it’s awkward, especially carrying it through doors. I was worried about the mesh as our dog has long, very strong claws (see photo) and can really scratch at the front of a crate in excitement when she’s about to be let out. But so far, it’s held up extremely well!! That’s after 2 roadtrips and near daily use. She’s now 7 months, 25+Kg , quite long for a mastiff, and still growing. Lots of space for her, this should see her into adult size. Cons: none really, although be aware that if you have a hatchback shaped car, this may be too tall to fit. For reference, it fits in my BMW iX3 with plenty of room on top and enough on the sides for a narrow bag or 2. But it will not fit in my husband’s BMW 3 series GT. Cushion: we found the 3peaks Medium size cushion (bought elsewhere) is the perfect fit for for this XL crate. (See photo). Definitely the M, the L was too large. Hope this helps.

I bought this crate for my little dog to travel in my car , he loves it he easily goes in it as he feels safe when enclosed, when the sun shines I pull the top over to stop the sun he gets plenty of air with the netted sides.

Just about fits our five year old Lurcher. He seems to find it nice and comfy though it could do with the door being an inch taller. This certainly doesn't stop him using it, though. We've had this for some time now and have found it very robust, easy to assemble and take down and very easy to transport when folded. The opening top makes it easy put the vacuum cleaner in!

Great product

Bought this at the last minute to take on holiday instead of our large metal crate, as we were tight for space. Can't recommend it enough. Strong, easy to put up and down and is light weight. We have a West Highland Terrier, 9kg and this was perfect for him. Just note, you do need an additional mattress for your furry friend to lie on, the one from our Kong crate fitted nicely and was something familiar for him to smooth the transition.

Works perfect for our labrador. Easy to set up. Sturdy frame and shell. Definitely a good buy.

Very goood build and size for my 32kg dog. But he hated it and looked sad at home with it. I didn’t buy it for travelling. But it would have been great for that at a pinch. Returned
