I’m glad to have found this style again from Carhartt. I had one several years ago and lost it traveling, it was my daily hat living in Colorado. Do not, I repeat do not wash this in a machine. Hand wash only, otherwise it will shrink in length a lot- you will still be able to wear it but it won’t have a fold. This time around I will follow the directions and hand wash only COLD. I have a 22” head (size 7/ medium) and this hat fits without tight squeezing. I don’t know why, but for some reason Carhartt beanies in recent years have gotten smaller (almost child size) and it’s a shame because a lot of people I know go to them for big noggin wear. Def check reviews before buying their hats to make sure they aren’t tiny, they don’t always allow free returns.

I was looking to upgrade from the usual cheap beanies I have laying around, and this fit the bill perfectly. It's stylish, warm and comfortable.

Really warm, good looking beanie for cold winter days. Thinsulate material works. I bought the large/x large and I'm glad I did. I didn't think my head was big but maybe it is? I measured it 24" around and the l/xl fits perfectly. It sticks out just a bit at the top, which is what I wanted. I did not want a form fitting dome style beanie. This is somewhere between that dome style that contours your skull and the tall beanies popular in hip hop fashion during the late 80s and early 90s. The material is soft. No matter what hat I wear, I always get that itchy scalp feeling after 30 minutes or so. I did experience that with this beanie but not as bad. It feels good over your ears when that brisk wind is whipping. I really like the thick waffle weave fabric compared to the normal thinner, tighter fabric most beanies are made from. It pops a little bit more and doesn't resemble every other beanie. There is one small Carhartt logo on the folded over part that looks good but isn't gaudy (cough oversized RL Polo hats cough). There are cheaper beanies but I like the Carhartt brand so this was worth it for me. I'll update if there are any durability issues.
