perfect tool for home diy
The media could not be loaded. i used to use my bosch combi drill as screwdriver, but it’s far too heavy and big for small jobsrecently i bought this ixo drill for my house move, as i foresee there will be loads of job that will make use of this screwdriverit really did all the job very well, first of all, the torque is really good despite of its small size, it could unscrew many tough old screw easilythe rotation speed could be easily control with the trigger, very similar to big combi drill, and from the spec, it should be first introduced in ixo series, which is a big improvement of this mini electric screwdriver series, it is very useful to prevent damage to some wood furniture especially for re-used screw holesbattery performance is really good, with a full charge i can use it for a whole day without recharging it, and there is a battery level indicator that i can ensure it got enough battery for my work, it use micro usb port for charging, so i can easily get it recharge with any usb charger or even power banklast but not least, the carrying box got load of space to put extra screwdriver bits and some other small tools (if you don’t store the power adapter, cables and manual you will get even more), the box design let you keep one frequently used screwdriver bit attached to the screwdriver, so you don’t have to load it every time for usehighly recommended! quality tool from a famous brand!

This 6th Gen fixes the two issues I have with my much used older model. A great tool from Bosch!
The media could not be loaded. This is my second Bosch IXO screwdriver. I have had the first one for around 5 years and heave been using it regularly since I got it. It has been a brilliant tool and is still going strong. I just finished a big project using the old screwdriver and I wondered if there had been any improvements since 2014 as I have a couple of minor issues that always annoy me when I use it a lot. When I looked here on Amazon and saw this 6th generation model, I decided to buy it because it had been designed to solve the only two issues I had with my older model. The first was the fact that it was either on or off, no variable speed and often when I am trying to screw into wood without a pre-drilled hole the screw falls off the driver as soon as I press the trigger. This is no longer a problem with this new model. The second was the fact that I regularly changed the direction of the old screwdriver by accident as my fingers rest where the toggle switch is and knock it across inadvertently. Having the toggle switch on the top fixes that problem on the new model. As I was researching the new model, I came across the drilling attachment and figured that I would give that a try too, as it meant that I would not have to use my cordless drill as well as the screwdriver on some of the jobs. I review both the driver and the drill attachment on the attached video. See the video for what each tool comes supplied with.I have to say that the screwdriver is a great bit of kit and the variable speed makes it a pure joy to use. I conducted an experiment (on the video) to see how many 2” screws it will drive in and out of pine on a single charge without pre-drilled holes. The answer was over 39 and the first one was a much thicker 3” screw which it would not drive fully home so I reckon it should have been 41 or 42. After I did this I recharged the screwdriver using the supplied power adapter and micro USB cable and it took exactly 3 hours to charge it fully from flat. I then pre-drilled the pine using the drilling attachment, which is a great addition, and the screwdriver dealt with the 3” screw with ease. With the drilling attachment, you can take everything you need to drill and secure your project in your trouser pocket. I demonstrate this on the video. The screwdriver is exactly what I would expect from Bosch. Well designed, made to a good standard and brilliant at doing what it is designed for. Add a three year guarantee to the deal as well and I think it is worth every penny. I am very pleased that I decided to get this product.

Great portable electric screwdriver
I've had the previous model for a few years and love it. I only decided to uprgade for the micro usb charging as the charger for the previous version is absolutely massive.I'm impressed, i prefer the ergonomics of the older model as this is very blade design, but it's fine and not a huge difference.I love being able to charge this with micro USB though.I do feel that the plastic case is a waste of plastic and far too big for the size of the screwdriver but I'm using it to store other things instead.I love the bosch ixo screwdrivers as the batteries last ages, they have a light so are good for using in awerkward places, powerful enough to sue drill heads on soft materials, and are small and portable to store. Every home should have it.

Light, comfortable, variable speed with a good battery life
Was about to build up some furniture and I wanted an electric screwdriver to make the process easier. Looked at a number of different types including cylinder options. Different Bosch ones were available it it wasn't exactly clear which was the latest model. Found out this was the current model, I like how the heads were interchangeable, that it had a built in light to help when using it and that it was easy to charge up with a usb cable. You can also vary the speed and direction easily with one movement. Driver is very light and comfortable to use. You also have the option of buying it in a pinky? colour if that's your thing. The IXO range also offered a number of different interchangeable attachments to allow you to access fittings from below and from the left or right sides without being a contortionist! I bought these separately along with extra screw bits. I didn't need the extra bits this time as the ones that came with the driver covers all the popular sizes. I did use the different attachments which I found useful.I used it to build up a kingsize bed and dining room table, still had plenty of charge left. The only thing I would like to see if there was an option to purchase a tool that would allow you to extend the drive head for when you have to get into restricted areas.
