Covered in sludge.
I opened the box and it was covered in this thick, sticky sludge. At first I thought there was cheese on it.. but it was SUPER STICKY like honey or something.. I have no idea what it is. The box was sealed and ok, so that means that it was covered in this when they packaged the item. What the f?????

Black Cheese Slicer Blade Width
This is what everyone wants to know. The length of the blade. See photo with tape measure.Aprox. 2 inches.

Tiny.
I was shopping for a knife to chop up large blocks of cheese. I was looking at https://smile.amazon.com/Double-Plastic-Handles-Cheeses-Vegetables/dp/B00ITBUD4K/ref=psdc_13875941_t2_B07PGQKWG1 and other such knives. Then I saw this one with its steel handles and figured I had a winner.Well there is a reason that they do not tell you the blade length. The blade is barely longer than the width of my palm. So it it too small to be useful and its handles are about the right size for a newborn. This thing is some sort of joke.Looks like I will have to buy a normal cheese knife like the one I linked with the 15 inch blade. Or maybe a Mezzaluna, those come with 14 inch blades and have other uses.

2 handled cheese knife
I thought this would be a shiny, elegant cheese knife but was surprised to find it was very dull and kind of felt like pewter. It's a little clunky and awkwardly small; when you cut down on cheddar cheese, it kind of mashes it and sticks as much as cuts it. I will try sharpening the knife to see if that helps. Each handle is only approximately 2" long and the cutting part of the blade is only 5 1/8" wide. I had the impression it would be a much longer knife, thinner and much, much, much sharper. Having the two handles is a great idea, but the execution is pretty average and way too small/short.

Excellent
exactly what I wanted-really thin, paper thin slices-I could not decide on which Boska slicer to order,(Boska seems to be the best brand)so I went on their website-seems this is their newest, improved model(I think that is the reason for the + sign after Monaco)It has a coating and a surface intended to prevent crumbing-I used it on hard cheddar-no crumbling-(seems to be a problem with other slicers)reason for purchase-I am trying to cut down on fats -I love cheese but tend to eat too much -this allows me a taste without overindulging-Boska website said cheese even tastes better when sliced

This cheese slicer has to be made of magic!
This product has been a game changer in the kitchen. This was originally bought as a gift for my dad, but I think I use it more than he does lol. First of all our old cheese slicer had to be older than my dad. The actual cutting part was extremely dull and the handle had fallen off years ago, so you had to grip a small piece of metal that stuck out. When I first used this new one, I felt like I was floating! The material is heavy duty, and the handle is sturdy. The blade is sharp with little grooves to make the cut as smooth as can be. Plus, the whole thing look very sleek. Now when I go to cut cheese, it is without the dread of how hard it will be! I enjoy cutting cheese with this cheese slicer!

It's a good cheese knife but watch it, it'll cut ya
Used on various firm cheese and it is very sharp and takes a nice smooth uniform slice off and you can vary the thickness. Nice. But if you aren't holding the cheese the right way, the strong pull you have and very sharp blade will take skin off as my wife found out necessitating an urgent care visit

great knives/poor packing
The knives are beautiful and extremely sharp. My complaint would be in the packing. Very little packing material to the point that the knives had all come out of the product box and were loose in the larger packing container. Probably just good luck that there was no apparent damage to the blades.

Disappointing
This is a great slicer, works perfectly with little effort needed to create nice, even, thin slices, without sticking. In that respect I'm very pleased with this cheese slicer. Great choice I thought, so I treated myself for Christmas! However, I'm very surprised to discover that in such a short space of time, and really with very little use, a rust spot has developed. Yes its a tiny spot and doesn't affect its slicing ability but that's hardly the point. This is an expensive item for what it is, there are many cheaper versions but I thought that it would be worth investing in something a little better quality. Rust spots only get worse, never better. And I wouldn't have expected it from this highly regarded brand. So if you buy one, check it thoroughly!!!ETASadly after only limited, irregular use, the cheese slicer was accidently dropped onto the tiled floor of the kitchen. I was shocked to discover the slicer was now in 2 halves and how badly and flimsily it was constructed. The 'head' merely slots into the handle in a tiny slot (look carefully at the image) and is secured by a small blob of glue or welding. I'm not sure which, but definitely is not the strong, efficient slicer that it appears, and for all that money!!! I returned to Amazon for a refund and haven't yet replaced, but next time I'll just get a cheap one because this is a total waste of money.

Brilliant
I’ve bought cheap versions of this and they have never been any good. Decided to pay up and get the best. It works very well and it gives nice thin slices of cheese. It’s extremely sharp so take care when washing it.

Definite must have for great cheese slices.
OMG!! I have been looking for a replacement for years, have bought several cheaper versions, NONE compare to this one! Yes it's expensive, but the quality is solid and using it day in day out means it's worth every single penny spent. Highly reccomend. You won't be sorry.
