MKS TMC2208 V2.0 Stepper Motor Driver Ultra-Quiet/Low Heat for MKS SGen L V1.0/Gen L V2.0 /Robin E3D/SKR 1.3/1.4 Controller Board (5pcs)

I had some perfectly operating TMC2208s already but I was having issues with an axis suddenly shutting down during a print. I had a second printer with these drivers installed on the same board and had no problems so I ordered another set of these and put them on the other printer, which fixed the problem.I am using Bigtreetech SKR V1.3 motherboards.

Only came with the parts to install 4 steppers and there was no screwdriver either.

If you're looking for an easy plug and play drop-in TMC2209s in one of the 32bit MKS or SKR boards for sensor-less homing pass on this. Find another TMC2209 that has the diag pin in the correct location.If you're not interested in using sensor-less homing or don't mind doing some extra work to get the diag pin connected for the current price writing this review of $30.98 pass on it and get one with the diag pin in the correct location. But if there is a significant discount coupon to it then maybe consider it.I purchased this back at the end of June when I saw it had a $10 off coupon bringing it down to $22.98 at the time. Just under $5 for each driver. I knew beforehand that these Makerbase designed MKS v1.0 TMC2209s have the diag pin used for sensor-less homing in the wrong location. Makerbase fixes this in their v2.0 design.These are setup for UART out of the box. For about a week I had these drivers in my Mega 2560/RAMPS 1.4 running Marlin 2.0 before getting my MKS SGEN_L V1.0 which they are now in and have been reliable for almost two months now.Giving this 4 stars because I knew this specific TMC2209 driver has the diag pin in the wrong location. The 1 star lost is because of the current price during the time of review $30.98. For that price you can get a different designed TMC2209 with the diag pin in the correct location for plug and play with the option to use sensor-less homing.

I bought a Rinkmo 3d printer https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B083QZKD5V/ (HCMaker 7) and the steppers were a bit too noisy. I didn't care but she did even when she was in the other room. But with these it's amazingly quiet. Plus I have an extra for another extruder or a spare.

Bought these advertised as used like new. Sat on a shelf for over a year until I needed them. Obviously past the time to return them. Then found that two of the 5 are defective. Amazon seems quite willing to sell returns that they assume are good but are likely defective. Should have checked them right away but Amazon wasted my money.

Used these to replace the factory drivers on my FLSUN QQ-S Pro. Did a wonderful job of eliminating the music generated by the printer.

Almost can't hear the printer now. Very happy
