Works perfectly for my application
Works perfectly for my application.I used this to modify a gun safe made to be unlocked with a keypad. The electronics in the safe were hosed, so I used this to actuate the motor to unlock the safe. Works exactly as expected. If you are looking for high security, this isn't the one you want. My application was to keep grand kids out of my small nightstand gun safe when they spend the night, and it's plenty sturdy for that. I determined adult however, could easily break the plastic housing exposing the wiring harness. With a little electronics knowledge they could short a couple of wires in order to unlock the safe. But for that matter, they could carry the whole safe away with little effort. Again, my intention was to keep kids out while allowing fast access, and it works for that.Just a couple of other notes for those interested in doing something similar. The speaker on this thing was way too loud for my liking so I knocked it way down by simply putting a little piece of tape over the hole. This must have made it 20-25% of what it was before and is tolerable. Your needs may vary, but for my application, I wanted the whole thing to be somewhat quiet. I used self tapping screws to mount the black bracket to my safe. I used a 12V wall power supply for power, and will incorporate battery backup later (maybe) just in case. I set the relay duration to 00 which makes it .20 seconds. This was plenty to turn the motor that triggers the unlock mechanism. This unit has a relay installed so I didn't need to purchase or build anything additional to switch the power to the motor. I only used the "+" and "-" wires for power, and the "comm" and "no" (normally open) wires from the relay. Wired "+" on the board and "+" from the motor to the "+" side of the power supply. Then Wired "-" on the board and "comm" on the board to the "-" side of the power supply. Finally, the "no" on the board to the "-" side of the motor. Programmed a master password, added a couple of RFID cards, bracelets, etc. Changed the relay duration as explained above to "00" which is the minimum duration. Then tested. Your wiring may be a little different so use this as an example only. I got the safe on clearance at a local gun store for $15. The electronics were fried but the latching mechanism still worked. Added this RFID reader and a power supply and now I have basically the same functionality of other RFID gun safes that cost over $200.Hope this helps, good luck with your project.Update 08/31/2016 - Still working without issue. Just wanted to add pictures of the datasheet that came with it.

Not to be taken seriously
More of a toy than anything. It definitely performs as it should, but the buttons are terribly cheap feeling, and sound even cheaper. From a security perspective.. the entire case is PLASTIC. It's very easy to rip this thing off of whatever surface it's on. To make matters worse, the actual wiring schematic is printed on the circuit board. Anyone can pull this off the wall, see the NO / C / NC, and open a lock in a matter of seconds.

Lots of functions, but made of plastic.
I was looking for a "bare" keypad for a project using an Arduino, but this does everything I need by it's self. For the price it's hard to beat for a keyed entry (or RFID) into a garage or something like that. It has lots of features and programability, so it will fit a lot of project needs. The down side is that it is plastic, so if someone tries to tamper or destroy it trying to get in, it's not going to take any abuse. I will find lots of uses and it's cheaper than an Arduino UNO!

Cheap but works
It's a pretty cheap and low quality but hey it's functional and works if you can't afford much but would recommend something more quality built and secure.

So far its working great. I used it to replace another similar keypad (the relay failed in it). I recommend that if you use this to drive the door strike directly you use a SSR relay. That should protect the small relay in this from the current draw of a door strike/mag lock. Also, the instructions claim you can make a "manager" key to easily add and delete user keys. This is nice since now you don't have to give out your installer code.

Good but let down by instructions and installation practicalities.
Works well and more robust than first impressions may indicate.Instructions are ARRRRGGGGHHHH and worth finding some on the web that actually tell you in good english how to do the things you need to do.WHY SHORT CABLE LENGTHS? It might even get a 5 star if the ribbon connector cables were 50 cm as opposed to 5cm long. PATHETIC.
