Lovely planner, but not year-specific, and, sorry, rather overpriced for what it is.
This is more or less pretty much a notebook, though it is a lovely one. I love the Busy B range, as they do pretty and quality products, and this is one of the prettiest with its faux-leather speckled cover in nude and gold. It is A5 size and very, very light for a notepad, so it'd be easy to carry this around. But, the black elastic band keeping it closed spoils the appearance a little. Gold, or the same pink that edges the pages, would've made this look even better. It consists of 12 x 'month-by-month' planner pages, with little boxes for each day of the month, but, there are no dates, which is both a bonus and a bit of a hindrance. You could use this any year by inserting your own dates, or you could be a little frustrated that no year, and therefore no calendar, is included. After space for the 12 months, the rest of the notebook is just like a jotter pad, with perforations so that if you do need to tear out a page, firm, careful pull will ensure that it comes out cleanly, and without any other pages being affected.Despite being beautiful, its use is a bit limited and it's not the best thought-out product in Busy B range. I am used to their products with more of the handy little flaps that I can tuck things into. I am currently using a desktop calendar as my diary, as each month has a little flap and all my tickets/vouchers/date-important stuff are at hand. And, it is overpriced at the current asking price. I'd have perhaps paid half the price for this, as a treat for myself.

An attractive and good quality planner/notebook from Busy B ...
This is a rather nice notebook from Busy B which has a variety of uses. The notebook measures 21.5cm in height x 15cm in width and has a semi hard attractive faux leather cover. The cover and page edges are decorated with a lovely rose gold metallic design. This notebook has a navy blue elastic closure, two navy blue ribbons and a back pocket. There are also two sheets of stickers that can be used throughout the planner/notebook.The front of the notebook contains twelve unmarked monthly planner pages with plenty of space for reminders and notes. The rest of the planner contains feint lined pages half of which have a serrated edge so they can be torn out and taken with you on errands, shopping etc. The quality of the paper used is pretty good as well, I have been using coloured fine liners and there is no bleed through. All in all ... an attractive planner/notebook that's a pleasure to use and is not too big to fit in your handbag.

Very clever design
This is a very well thought out and cleverly designed perpetual planner. I do love the Busy B products and I've had a few things over the years (my favourite being the family wall calendar with pockets). And this planner does not disappoint. It's quite small at just A5 size but this also makes it perfect for slipping into a bag. Every little detail has been thought out from the hard yet flexible cover (it has the appearance of a hardback book), the elastic to hold it together, the rose gold edging on the paper and the 2 strings to find your favourite pages quickly. There is also a pocket at the back and includes a set of stickers which you can use to create your own labels and dividers. In the front of the book are 12 pages with a month to a view calendar. This is a perpetual calendar and you will have to write your own dates in. Once it's been filled in you can't reuse it unless you white-out the dates and start again. I think it could be really handy for recording birthdays every year which never change and then using the paper to record people's favourite things, what you bought them and how much you spent. The most unusual thing about the planner is that half the book has fixed lined paper and the other half has perforated edges so you can cleanly remove the paper without ruining the book. (However it does leave a little white bit leftover). It's a clever idea. I sort of wish they'd made every page like this though. It also loses a star because it's really expensive for what it is essentially a glorified notebook. It's very pretty. Each design is gorgeous and as I'm a bit obsessed with rose gold at the moment, it matches every thing I own!

An unremarkable notebook; there are better options in a crowded market
With the rise of interest in bullet journalling, the market for notebooks is an increasingly crowded one and products need to stand out. I was interested to read the claims of luxury details and clever features in this Busy Life notebook. The cover is reasonably stiff but not as much so as the Moleskine or Leuchtturm competition. There is an elastic closure, two black ribbon page markers (nicer to have different colours to identify different sections), and the rear has a partial pocket that stops the stickers from falling out but isn't as secure as the envelope style pocket in other brands.Internally, there are 12 monthly planner sections, being a grid of days across the top with 5 rows for weeks. The remainder are plain lined pages, un-numbered, just under half of which are perforated. The pages have an attractive gold edge and are of reasonably high quality. Fountain pen ink bleeds slightly but not enough to be unsightly and while it does show through slightly on the opposite side it's also not enough to be a major problem. Most of these features can be found in other notebooks so the competition is high. For roughly the same price you can get a dotted Leuchtturm 1917 or Dingbats A5 notebook with a much higher quality feel, numbered pages and all the same features with the additional flexibility that bullet journalling adds. Taking all that into account, I can't really recommend the Busy Life.
