We bought four of these in white. It looks fantastic for the price!This is a wired light - meaning that you install it on an existing conduit box. You can use extra cord and drape from a hook adjacent to the box if the box location isn't where you want it.I took off a star because the directions were not for the product we purchased. The directions didn't show the mounting plate, the position of the four screws, etc. And when you're on a ladder trying to hang a light, you really don't want to have to guess over and over and over... We probably disconnected and reconnected the light about 4 times. Also, the screws to connect the white cap onto the box are so long that they don't work - I'm going to pick up alternate (shorter) screws and hopefully this will fix the problem.If anyone has a copy of the (correct) directions that match this product, please upload them. We bought 4 and all 4 lights have the wrong directions inside.*** EDIT August 4, 2015 - Contacted the company, they sent out a new direction sheet that is the actual product and offered to help however they could. The lights are all hung and look great. Fantastic value and performance. Contemporary and clean looking they look great in our loft.

I did a lot of pricing around before purchasing these lights. I am extremely pleased at the quality, condition, and value. They arrived promptly and well packed. They do have the UL sticker to address someone else's question. The cord is black and is about 12 feet long...more than ample length for an old high farmhouse ceiling. There is a matching red ceiling cover included, as well. (website did not mention or show the ceiling cover, so I was not actually sure it would be included...very happy!) The color is a true red. The price for these lights is so much less than even the plain aluminum color metal at the big box stores...AND you can't get them there in RED!

Light looks great and easy to install in my kitchen. I bought an old house recently and it had a very similar light but was an old off white and looked horrible. I thought it was just a cheap piece of junk and threw it in the basement. Then I started seeing them in models and pictures online and they looked really. So I ordered this silver one and it looks sort of "retro-modern". Kind of conservative yet kind of hip. Then I took the old one from the basement, cleaned it up, and spray painted it a high gloss brown with antique white for the inside and put it over my dining room table. It looks great and much cleaner than the chandelier type light I had with a bunch of glass and shades, etc. I think this style lamp looks great, is versatile, easy to install, and such a bargain that you can change it if you get tired of it.

I needed a light or a lamp for my bedroom, and because II have a wall outlet wired to the switch by the door (see the note below) I was looking for a swag lamp. The brushed nickel exterior looks a lot better than I expected and the white inside the shade ensures that the reflected light isn't harsh. I'm using a "warm" light led bulb so I can't speak to heat issues. The cord is extra long, so you'd probably be able to make it work for most scenarios.Note: This is NOT a plug-in lamp. I saw the length of the cord, didn't see hard-wire in the description, and made an assumption. Ended up ordering a straight blade industrial angle plug (Leviton 5266-CA) because I figured that would be easier than shipping this one back and finding another plug-in that I liked as much at a similar price.

I really love these, purchased two for my basement studio and they look great! Mostly were easy to install, in my case I was trying to drop the lighting below a ceiling mounted radiator system, so I liked being able to determine my own length of cord. The mounting hard ware was a bit confusing and a bit of a pain. Trying to set these into older mounts in our historic home proved a bit of a challenge and I had a hard time getting the screws to sit flush. You hardly notice though. Definitely took two people to get them up. I used LED bulbs instead of the recommended Edison style. The overall lighting is great, but it's a bit harsh when seated looking across the room, you can't help but look into them and there is nothing to soften the light reflecting off the white metal interior. I suspect this would be less of an issue with the Edison style or similar bulbs, but small price to pay for saving 40 watts! Overall, great light, well constructed and looks fantastic. I'll be purchasing 4 more in green when I get around to redoing the garage.

Bought this item as "used, like-new" and it was certainly that and more. It appeared to have never been used and in pristine condition! Very nice.

Received the light and found it had a kind of blotchy haze on the canopy. Let the company know and they got right back to me and stayed in touch until the problem was solved. In the end, all it took was a little car wax to make the light shiny...so, problem solved. Easy to install and it looks great. I still can't get over how concerned the company was and how they stayed on it until it was fixed. Wish we needed another light so we could deal with them again.

The size, shape, and function of this light is great! However, the shade of green is very different than what is shown in the description. I wanted a grassy green but the light is almost a forest green. It is not ugly and I am going to keep it but I was really looking for what was shown in the description.I will edit this review by adding a photo so that you can see what I see.
