I’ve purchased and repurchased this items many times for myself and family members with pools. We love it. Overall it’s pretty sturdy and stands up to the sun and chemicals pretty well. Usually this thermometer lasts between 6-9 months before it craps out. But we never take it out of our pools. We let it circulate in the water constantly so it’s exposed to the elements non stop. The large screen is wonderful and the solar panels charge it and keep the display readable. It’s easy to use, pull it out of the box and essentially plop it in the water. Excellent value for the price.

Admittedly the one we bought three years ago is starting to go, but it's been outside constantly for 4 seasons. We compared it to other thermometers and it seems very accurate. really like the look and functionality so bought another one.

This is easy to use; it takes 5-7 hours to charge in sunlight (I didn't time this, as we had a cloudy day). Turn it on and leave it be. Perfect for busy lives. The display is easy to read for all ages. I tied it up so it doesn't get caught in the skimmer, which is why I was replacing an older thermometer, as it didn't have a way to anchor it to anything.

The first one I ordered stopped working after a month. Filled up with water like the seal was broke. Called the number for customer service and they called back the same day. Asked for the product number which she said was a bad batch and sent another right away. Interestingly enough the same product number, which I checked right away, was stamped on the item. Have had it floating in the pool now for a couple of months and so far no water seeping in and working well. So we'll see how it holds up as the summer goes along and very good customer service.

Unfortunately this item is a fail. If it didn't leak it would be great. For techno-geeks, it appears to be leaking from the bottom where the temperature probe is at. I noticed condensation on the inside in the cool mornings. When I took it out of the pool and tipped it upside down then water appeared in the display area and the temperature display went out. Apparently I doused the electronics with the water that had gotten inside. I put it down on the table and it made a puddle from the bottom end. I purchased it in December 2021 and started noticing condensation in March, and I think it was sitting a little lower in the water. Also, I cannot find a way to contact the manufacturer to discuss a warranty claim. No warranty noted on the Amazon page. Amazon's "Warranty & Support" sections says "Manufacturer’s warranty can be requested from customer service. Click here to make a request to customer service. " Clicking here lands at a generic Amazon info page with no ability to contact anyone. UPDATE August 2022: So I purchased another one in early May 2022 and modified it before it went into the pool. It's now mid August 2022 and NO LEAKS. As noted above, the common leak is at the chrome temperature sensor at the bottom. Carefully bust off the blue cap at the bottom. (On a leaky unit you will notice that the sensor can slide in an out a bit. You'll just have to throw it away and get a new one.) On a non-leaky or new unit, make sure that the probe area is clean then goop it up thoroughly with a marine or aquarium silicone. Let it cure then toss it in the pool. I 3D printed a TPU rubber cap for the end (search Printables.com for model 259696), but probably not critical.

I think I have experimented with more pool thermometers than most people as I've owned pools for over 20 years. I like the wireless ones the best that give you readouts inside your home. Thought I had a winner with the last one I bought but it started providing inaccurate readings and would cut out completely from time to time. This thermometer is the next best option. Yes, it produces readings only where the thermometer is located. However you do not need to bend down to see the temp. The digits are large enough to be seen while standing and they are on both sides of the thermometer. The readings are very accurate and that is what is most important for a pool thermometer. It is a solar unit, but it has batteries. However you cannot replace the batteries. I've been using mine for close to a year now and haven't needed to do anything. It's always on and doesn't require any charging or batteries so I'm very happy with it. And I think you will be too.

I bought one of these to replace my old school mercury thermometer. It's really easy to use and set up. It worked as expected for a couple of days, but then it started reading incorrect water temperatures. Yeah, my pool is not at 99 degrees. So I called the number that came with the product. The customer service lady was really nice and she took time to listen to my issure. They asked me to send them my Amazon receipt. So I did , but I also sent them a picture of the thermometer reading 99 degrees. A few days later, I received a new thermometer at my doorstep. It's been about a month with the new one and it works great.

Works great. Replaced my old temp gauge what's good about this one, it has a rope so I can tie it and it doesn't keep getting sucked up to or in my skimmer.

After only 3 weeks, water has been entering the thermometer. Now this water fogs up the sight glass. I hoped that this was a unique flaw and bought a 2nd one (stpid me). Same problem. Thermometer is NOT watertight. Don't waste your money.

More than I expected

Seems like decent quality materials. Accurate temperature readings and love that it is solar powered so I don't have to worry about batteries. Does the job it's meant to.

I love that I can read the display from a distance, I can see my pool from my sunroof window and I'm able to see the temperature, and decide if the weather here in canada has been warm enough to warrent a swim
