Gerber Bear Grylls Canteen and Cooking Cup [31-001062]

Yes I watched that insane dude drinkin urin and sleepin in camels - no I did not wanna be a bear grylls equipment dude either But I gotta say Gerber did a good job designing this product - I kinda like the cover itself ( take a marker and black out name ), light, tough, good tight fit ( maybe a little TOO tight ), strong enough to hold full canteen without floppin around, secure fit to belt Kinda like the cup too - well made, boils water well, nice grippy handles, folds up nice n tight, big capacity And I kinda like the canteen itself - huge water capability, nice feel in hand, NO LEAKS, at all ( put real hot water in it, let it sit, no leaks - put it in freezer, let it thaw, no leaks ) Did a little renovation on cap - not that it leaked at all but plastic piece that holds cap to canteen had to go - an earlier reviewer had a great idea of cutting off bottom piece, cutting connection in half and drillin a hole in left over top part and using paracord as a cap to connection - kudos dude If you don't wanna seem like a "little bear" cub n hearing the jokes on the trail, take your blackest black marker and cover up the huge BG that is all over this thing All in all this is a heavy duty, well conceived, high quality, affordable, huge capacity product that was shipped fast, packed well and easily tracked Don't be hatin because of the name - just go get one Reluctant, but 5 stars and 2 thumbs up

Exciting as a "go anywhere, do anything" minimalist cook set is, in practice it's more cumbersome than a traditional backpacking cook set. Also, it gains very little except aesthetics over the milspec version. Now, I know it's supposed be a minimalist piece of kit, but you could save weight and maybe even headaches with a platypus bottle and GSI Minimalist cook set. The GSI can be used in conjunction with a folding stove as well; for times when a fire isn't an option. The canteen's shape makes it harder to use on an open fire than one might think, and the handles are coated with a rubber that melts if it gets too hot, like in a fire. Military canteens have a propensity to taste nasty after a few dozen uses, and are hard to clean due to their shape. This is true of the canteen as well, but it for some reason came tasting of chemicals and new plastic. The cup too, it smelt so metallic when I first purchased it that I was at loath to use it. A few washes later and it smells better, but why wouldn't that be taken care of before it was sold. First impressions and all. So bottom line: nice, but better options exist.

Look the first thing you need to realize is it has BG on it and is black/grey and orange. All of the BG stuff has the same color scheme so people will know. And yes I am a bit embarrassed by all the BG stuff I have. Matching consumer main stream stuff does not go over well with my hiking/camping crowd. That being said I will tell you why I still carry this. Yes, I have a camelbak in my pack and it works great...unless you need to share or boil water or purify water. Well you see my point. This is an old school product redone by BG. This is a remake of the standard military canteen with cup. They nestle together and sit in the same belt carrier. I have carried an original one for years but it is kinda ugly and heavy. This new one has new materials and looks nice. It gives you a standard canteen that you can add your choice of purifying tablet or use the cup to boil water , make coffee/tea/eat soup etc. Not a huge stride forward but it does a great job for what it does and in a versatile addition to your hydration gear.

Bear Grylls has made himself synonymous with quality products designed to take the knocks of the hard outdoors and this product is another good example of that standard. The bottle is a large 1 litre (2.11 US pints) capacity bottle made of strong plastic with reinforced ribbing for extra strength and added grip when holding. The metal canteen is easy to put on and pull off the bottom of the bottle and the heat proof fold-away handles are an excellent idea allowing you to use it for heating directly over a fire. My only gripe for this product would be that the carry case is a little too tight meaning the canteen gets stuck in the case when you pull the bottle out so you have to muck around pulling the canteen out separately if you wish to use it. But this is really a minor gripe as you would normally not take the bottle out of the case just to have a drink so your really only going to notice it when you need to get to the metal cup.

Compare to G.I. type military canteen set, i prefer the military canteen set. This Gerber canteen has a good looking, worth the price, but the canteen cup is too small, i think probably it's about only 15 OZ, The canteen cup is pretty tied on the canteen and stick on the canteen all the time, it's a problem after a camping fire. Overall, it's a high quality product but it's not designed for using.

This is above and beyond any canteen I've ever owned. The build on it isn't cheap. All the materials are very strong. The price may be steep for a canteen, but this is worth every penny! Every piece on this is very well crafted. Make sure to wash it a few times though just to get the plastic smell out. That's almost a given with any new product though. I'd rather clean it myself then have the factory take care of it as some other reviews suggested. Zero leaks. The other cheap army surplus canteens are such cheap plastic and the smell doesn't go away, but this thing is seriously so durable. I can't express it enough how well made this is. Can't wait to take it out backpacking and hunting. I'll write an update after I use it on my winter camping trip in a few weeks!

Molto capiente rispetto alla norma (1L) ed in un certo senso anche termo isolata. Tiene per un discreto tempo la temperatura. Gavetta ottima per le situazioni e pouch con aggancio per tracolla e/o cintura. Consigliatissima

El comentario de Joan Codina me ayudo a decidirme y la verdad ... un 10. Me ha pasado alguna vez que compras un producto por la foto que ves en Amazon y luego te llevas una agradable sorpresa. En este caso porque en la foto no se ve la fantástica funda de tela con hebilla de tela para poderla sujetar con total seguridad a tu mochila. Fuerte y resistente, con su taza de metal ya no puedes pedir más. Calidad de Gerber, diseño de Bear Grylls a muy buen precio. Sobre Amazon ¿que podemos decir? Envio puntual, embalaje perfecto. Un 10 como siempre. Partidazo que le estoy sacando a la cuenta Premium jajaja

Que les puedo decir de los productos Gerber de la línea de Bear Grylls todos me encantan excelente calidad alemana y un muy buen precio me gustan todos y en su momento iré comprándolos por colección. muy recomendables para uso en camping

底のカップは、マナスル等にも使えそうですが、現在のところ未使用です。 GERBERの製品にはお馴染みのマニュアルとか付いてますが・・・普通に軽くて便利 アルミの方が良いのかと思ったのですがそれ程重くも華奢でもありません 結構単純に頑丈ですので長持ちしそうです。
