Cute story for a pirate loving kid.

Our twin girls (aged 2 and a half) have been on a pirate kick lately and they love this short book. Told in rhyme, a pirate captain gives advice to several kids who are joining up. Advising them on how to pick a parrot and how being a pirate means no more toothbrushes or baths! The illustrations are cute with enough going on in the background to keep our youngsters engaged. This is just the book to get your kids started on a life of larceny and arson! Or bittorrent use...

Nice gift for children’s birthday party pirate themed.

Its better than a lot of books for toddlers out there, but something did not click with my kid. 3 stars for story, +1 stars because the illustrations are good, which in my opinion is very important and extremely hard to come by in young children books now. Its very thin. It is 24 pages, but looks thinner and smaller, because pages are just paper (not board) . Again, its not bad, but did not hold an interest of my 2.5 year old.

This book is fantastic!! My grandson loves pirates and this book is very fun to read. He kept asking us to read this every bedtime for a month. He was memorizing the parts and saying the pirate phrases while playing! Well written. Highly recommend!

I wanted to give my daughter pirate lessons, but found local pirate schools in short supply. This book is a fun read, and great for kids of all ages. My 1 year old laughs at the pictures and like to point out the man, boy, bird, boat, and other details in the pictures. As she gets older, it will be fun reading as well. Great kids book. You can't go wrong with the Little Golden Book series. I enjoyed it 30 years ago as a kid, and now my little girl enjoys the same great books.
