Layrite Layrite Cement Hair Clay, 120 g

My go to now after a recommendation from a friend. Smell is lovely too. Prior to this I used Vo5 Matt clay. This is a different league. Worth the money.

Really good hold and quality.

Can be applied to slightly damp hair, which is a bonus. Allows a good degree of hold over the day, but not stiff, so hair can be reworked without it after wind or rain to some degree. Not completely washable as claimed, but no big build-up over time and problems with waxy pillow covers as some stuff does. The smell is a bit sickly at the start (vanilla), but I'm now on my second tub, so I guess I'm used to it. It's decent, especially for the price, which lasted me about 2 months.

I have been looking for no shine, water based, reasonably priced matt pomade/clay/ ish stuff. This Layrite Cement Clay matches all my requirements. The scene is like coconut. Very natural volume on top and no shine at all. I would recommend it for thick hair to your collection

Not as strong hold as i thought it would be. The smell is amazing though. Unfortunately for me it means I have to go back to Da Wax.

I just got my first faux hawk haircut, and have been trying different styling products left and right. Some were too gooey, some made my hair feel crusty, and some didn't dare to hold up my hair (the top is like 3-4 inches). I also dance, exercise, etc, so I needed something that could hold up all day. I bought maybe 20 or so different options to try, took notes on each, and ranked them on the qualities I needed. Granted, everyone has different hair needs. For me though, this is an amazing product. It keeps the hair flexible, yet holds strong. It has a matte look and provides texture and spikiness without being crusty. It does not make my allergies go mad. It also washes out SUPER easily! Best of all, it has a delicious, vanilla-like fragrance that I just love to smell. Bonus points- I found out if applied on dry hair and I use a fine tooth comb or brush to brush my hair into shape, it will stay up all day with just the one product! Before, I was using a base volume product to blow dry hair, then add a second product. Now I can just let my hair air dry, and put a little of this in! The big jar is also an amazing value. The smell of this clay is amazing. Also lasts a long time so that lovely smell just lingers throughout the day. My only wish is that it has a bit more hold to it and less shine. All in all, great hair clay product.
