Kolpin 21570 Black 1.5" Rhino Grip, 2 Count (Pack of 1)

These grips are great! I was looking for a way to mount a shovel and an axe to the factory roof rack of my SUV. Most of the options I found cost upwards of $75, a set of two Kolpin Rhino Grips cost $12. I purchased two pairs—one to mount a shovel and another to mount an axe. To create a mounting system for the grips, I used electrical conduit hangers (Hose clamps can also be used), which cost about $2 each. Combined with a few bolts, nuts, and washers, my mounting points cost less than $4 each. The result is an inexpensive, versatile, and secure mounting system that holds a full-size shovel (42 inches long, 3.5 lbs) and a full-size axe (28 inches long, 6.3 lbs). The straps are a bit rigid and difficult to lock into place. But they work well. I have driven thousands of highway miles using the Kolpin Rhino Grips, and my shovel and axe have remained fully secure. In addition to highway and city driving, I've also logged many miles on trails, crossing creeks, navigating washboard trails and fire trails over rocks, and tackling ruts. The Kolpin Rhino Grips have kept my tools 100% secure every single mile. These grips are fantastic—they get the job done with no worries about your tools flying off your vehicle!

Incredible! Everyone is saying the rubber is too hard, yes it is a hard rubber for better durability. If you place these upside down it makes the rubber easy. I prefer the rubber being this way because it last longer. This ar15 model can be done to any vehicle, I drilled 4 holes and bolted these in my 2019 challenger trunk for my ar15. Oh and I bought the 1.5" ones, they were perfectly size. They have 3" options available as well. I tried to capture every detail of this in the photos and video above for better visual of the 1.5". Great buy!

As others have stated, out of the box this thing is a semi-permanent solution with it being very difficult to stretch open and close. I knew that going in so still 5 stars. Since I wanted to use as a dog leash holder, I took a dremel to mine. If you sand down the notch, it's a lot easier to get on and off. Of course you then compromise the holding power, but I am good with that for my application. Very well made product and fits great on my MOLLE panel.

These mounts are far too strong to be useful. They can barely, if at all, be loosened or fastened by hand, even with nothing in them. A pair of pliers is a necessity. Trying to tighten them down to the next smaller setting can probably be done only by standing on them or using a C-clamp. I'll probably let them sit around on a shelf for a few years and then throw them out. Very tough, very affordable, very useless.

I bought these and they worked great for traveling I use them to secure my shovel on my roof basket. They are a great value for the price and are pretty sturdy. I think the negative reviews are from people who don’t understand the width or the capacity weight of what it can hold only. They probably try to mount something larger or heavier then what these strap can handle and end up breaking it. I suggest do your research and figure out what size and weight you tend to use it for before buying. Anyways I like these so much I bought a second set just in case if I need to mount something else. Later down the road.

Worked as expected , lasting well

Mounted these on the front rack on my Honda Rubicon. Used stainless steel hose clamps, lined with a strip of old bicycle inner tube to prevent the clamps from scratching the paint. They mounted easy & are sturdy. Perfect for shovels, axes, sledge hammer etc.

Bought two pairs for attaching my wood splitter and shovel to my ute sports bar. Are holding up well to date but could see possible deterioration over time. However, for the price working well to date.
