Dryden designs fine nib pen we
I love it. I use it with cartridges provided, rather than ink. I have only had it for 3 days. I totally love it.Initially the ink flow was bit. But that could have been me and the way I put in the cartridge. Eitherway, once you keep writing the flow is perfect.Beautiful fine nib. Love it. And great price.

Dryden experience....
This is not my first fountain pen by Dryden which I used DAILY for over five years. The colour and quality is superb. Both nib writes smoothly as well. For the price you really cannot go wrong. I just hope I will receive just a longer service than my previous pen.

Great Aftersales Service
Really good looking pen but, upon delivery this morning, I noticed that one of the nibs was missing. I sent a message around lunchtime and by 2:30 pm I had a response with assurance that the missing part will be in the post today! Brilliant service. Now I've just got to wait for Royal Mail to deliver it. Fingers crossed on that one :-) I should add that the cost of £13.64 is excellent value, particularly when you consider that it includes 2 nibs, 24 ink cartridges and an ink converter.

Great Value for Money
Hi, My review might be from a different angle to most on here as I'm probably older than most of the reviewers and I was writing with fountain pens in the 1950's. Therefore, a good many have been twixt my fingers over the years.Having been a secret, lifetime pen fanatic/anorak, I started to gather pens like a collector again some years ago before it became 'de rigeur' to do so. I only bought this one because I guessed it would be good... great value for money to go with my growing collection of fountain pens, some of which go back to the 1940s at least.I am not disappointed. I just plain fancied owning one and this one has delivered. This Dryden is a great pen and excellent value for money, even if my shaky, ageing handwriting doesn't do it full justice. It would make a great starter pen for anyone seeking to find out what all the current fuss and desire to write with fountain pens is all about and I would thoroughly recommend it.It is beautiful to look at and as far as my own pearl white one is concerned, excellently engineered and beautifully weighted. When you can buy something like this for Just over £20, who in their right mind would want to spend thousands on a pen as some do. It's probably the same old story of snobbishness, pretentiousness and 'name,' I say good luck to those manufacturers if someone is gullible enough to believe that such pens really are that much better to write with. The service I received on ordering the pen was amazing too. I ordered at 5 on a Saturday evening on standard delivery and the pen turned up next day, midway through the Sunday morning. Stunning service. Now the business end. The pen writes very smoothly and constantly, with no drop outs. As good as most pens I've owned and some would have me cost more. It is clean and hasn't leaked anywhere so far. The converter and 24 cartridges supplied make it even better value for money. It looks classy in the hand and much more expensive than its actual price. For me, the weight of the stainless steel, laquered body is perfect and it's most enjoyable to write with a pen that is so well balanced. I don't personally find the gold trim garish, it sets the genuine elegance of the pen off very well.My only reasons for the 4 overall rating are that for my hand, I find the diameter a tad small to grip, noticeably but not overly, just in camparison to some of my other FP's, which fit my hand better. This might make it a good ladies pen for smaller hands. My only other gripe and it may be nit picking is that although the cap clicks on and off very positively, when the pen is in the closed (cap on) position, there is slight movement between the cap and pen body. Mine actually, moves back and forth by about a millimetre. This is not a major failure in my eyes, just more of a niggle. All in all, apart from the few points that made me score the pen a four, it would be five in every way. Excellent buy and I'm very pleased with this addition to my collection.

Nice Little Writer
My wife recently joined a penpal group and wanted something to make her letters seem special. Normally my wife uses a ball point pen because she has severe arthritis and finds fountain pens hard to hold because of the weight. I decided to try and solve her problem and after a short trawl through Amazon I found the answer to her prayers. The Dryden Fountain Pen is well made, stylish and light. It is easy to install a cartridge or to convert it to use bottled ink using the ink converter supplied. She liked it as soon as she tried it and hasn't used a ball point since. I bought her the Dangerous Red edition with a broad nib. As a result of this purchase I bought myself one, this time Mysterious Blue with a fine nib. In conclusion these pens are worth the investment and can make writing even the most mundane letters more worthwhile and enjoyable.

Could be smoother
Lovely looking pen. For the money I suppose it is ok. I am left handed and have small writing so I thought the fine nib would be best. I can write with it although it's a little scratchy. I have a LAMY with a left hand nib which is much smoother. Two disappointing things, first I thought it might have come with a cartridge. It didn't, but I happened to have some Parker Quink ink so I filled it with that. Finding out how to fill it was a problem. The diagram sent with the pen told me nothing, except to go to the Dryden website, which again told me nothing, except a popup which kept telling me this was the UK shop. Good, I live in the UK! Eventually I found out how to fill it online, although it was rather messy. Hopefully practice will make perfect. The other disappointment was I was sure I had ordered the pouch, but it came in a box. It doesn't really matter, but just not what I was expecting. I am hoping however that the pen will write smoother in time. If it does I will update my review.

Lovely Pen, Great Value for Money
This pen is a value for money equivalent to many available fountain pens. I choose the fine nib which is perfect. I would like to have received a trial cartridge but it did contain an ink holder which was fine for my use. It write smoothly, is nice to hold and a good weight for daily use.

Disappointed
My line of work means I need to use a fountain pen everyday. This is a very pretty pen however it was hard to draw up the ink with the converter, when it did fill it wasn’t flowing correctly. The pen dried up if you didn’t use it for a day (and I’m mean even scribbling on a paper wouldn’t work). Last straw is that it started to blot and now doesn’t work. I’m three days past the return date and was so positive about the pen as it wasn’t a cheapy that I didn’t register within the 14 days. Do not buy or remember to register it.

Great pen; writes like a dream!
I own several fountain pens and recently added this pen from Dryden to my collection. The price was reduced and decided to try it. At first, I was somewhat disappointed in it's performance (it skipped and the ink flow was erratic). I blamed it on both the pen itself and the cartridges. HOWEVER, after a few days and a more careful examination, I realized I was hasty when installing the cartridge. I took care this time and installed the cartridge with slow precision and wow - what a difference! The cartridge snapped in tightly and correctly (you could hear and feel it). It writes like a dream with or without the cap. I tend to write fast and it hasn't skipped at all. This pen is a winner and I am sure I will be using it on a daily basis. Seller gets an A+ for excellent packaging, quick handling and an overall great purchase!

Nice!!
This Dryden fountain is just what I wanted. My pen included refill cartridges and a medium and fine nib. It writes very smoothly and is a pleasure to use. Love it!

Reliable and a visual spectacle!!
The pens are of great quality and easy to fill or ad cartridges. The ink flows easy without smearing. Based on the quality I purchased another
