Very good mid-field every day brew
This is a good “builders’ tea.” Not fancy, not bottom of the barrel. Brews a tasty cuppa, the flavor comes through milk very pleasingly. Not as bitter as some blends from northern England. Not as malty as the Scots prefer. It’s my go to journeyman brew. Note: It IS CTC (Crushed,Twisted,Curled) tea so be prepared for a pre-steep “ground coffee” appearance, but not at all dusty. Still, I use disposable bags because it does unfurl to annoying bits. Very minor issue due to modern processing methods. I save the froofy whole leaf teas for the occasional toffee nosed performance treats.Five stars because it delivers what’s advertised in spades.

Great tea but a very large quantity
This is great tea. I basically drink nothing but tea throughout the day. I drink 2-3 quarts of tea every day as iced tea plus I brew the occasional hot cup of tea. Even at that rate this bag lasts months. It took me about 5 months to finish my last bag. I’ve seen several bad reviews complaining about a drop or change in quality. I’m an American and only even became aware of this brand in August 2014 so I can’t comment on how this tea compares to the other PG Tips you might be able to get in the UK but this is the only tea I drink anymore and I have never had any variation in quality over the last 5 years. This tea is great and much better than Lipton’s, Luzianne, or any other US variety I’ve tried. Give it a try, you won’t be disappointed but unless you drink a LOT of tea, you might want to opt for a smaller package. If you’re a heavy drinker like me however, this size is perfect and a great value.

Some of the BEST black tea on the planet!
PG Tips has been my preferred choice of tea for the last decade! My first remark that came from my lips when tasting PG Tips for the very first time, was, “Delicious!” I now know what “delicious” actually means! I really enjoy the 3.3 lb. bags! When I get the tea, I then open the bag(s) and store the tea in swing top canning jars. No more opening boxes or cartons. If you don’t have canning jars, using a gallon milk jug that you’ve washed and dried out would work nicely.

Worst lose lead black tea, no flavor, tiny bits
I used to drink PG tips years ago, even cut open bags to brew it as lose leaf.Since some of my favorite other brands have gone up in price I thought I would give this bulk pack of PG a try.Terrible mistake, I dumped out this mornings entire pot of tea.I just tried almost double tea and a short brew. That is better but still pretty bad, reminds me now of generic store brand tea bags. The older PG was a bold tea with little nuance. This is brown water with some tanins. No body and very little aroma, no complexity. It's worse than forgotten tea I found in the pantry 10 years old!The actual "leaves" are ground so fine it clogs my tea strainer. For a cheap cup I strongly recommend choosing other low cost teas like Yorkshire Red or Brooke Bond Red.

Yay! Tiny leaves for faster brewing
This is a delicious proper UK world wide favorite black tea. For those of us who refuse to use tea bags, this perfect blend of cut/crushed, not pulverized, leaves is a blessing. Because it brews in a minute or 2, not in 4-5 minutes like big leaves do. The flavor is rich, reliable and exciting.I didn't have a kitchen maid because I'm the kitchen wench, and on many a morning we have a time crunch. I can brew a huge 48 oz pot of tea and be satisfied with the flavor and flavinoids in 2 minutes not 5 minutes.Stop complaining about the crushed leaves dear. They are neither pulverized nor powered. The crushing allows brewing a delicious cup in less than half time, while a bunch of half grown grown children meow like cats for the tea that goes with their toast and cream at breakfast.

Original Batch
I was fortunate to receive the original batch of PG Tips Loose Leaf Black Tea before Unilever sold it to an American company who also owns Lipton tea. Unlike the new batches of PG Tips it recommended to brew for 3-5 minutes instead of 2 minutes. Also it tasted delicious black. You could taste the strong and malty flavors. It was not bitter like the new batches of PG Tips to the point you cannot drink it without milk or sweetener. The OG batches have more tea leaves from Indian. The new batches are sourcing most of their tea leaves from Kenya because it is cheaper, but ruined the flavor PG Tips had because the Indian leaves provided more of the malty flavor.

Dust, not whole leaves
I love the flavor of PG tips, however the loose tea is the same as in the bags, not whole leaves. It also has a lot of filings (dust). Will not order again.

Expats, take it from a Londoner...
Maybe its because I am a Londoner, that I know this is as fresh as it gets.Maybe its because I am a Londoner, I don't have to be told 3bloody pounds of tea would naturally be for catering .Its because I am a Londoner I LOVE PG TIPS.Good for about 600 cuppas. It had an expiration about a year from purchase.Best value on any tea.Remember, our milk is like their half&half, which is really what its blended for.(request to the Americans) If you are going to try things from other cultures, Please be kind and not show ignorance. If you are not a TEA drinker, how can you critique it? Have you ever seen a European buy a gallon container of BARBECUE SAUCE and complain it does not taste like Ketchup, and it has catering written on it.
