General Finishes Water Based Milk Paint, 1 Quart, Alabaster

After reading reviews I have to say this paint lives up to it's popularity! After trying several other top brands I just had to see what General Finishes was all about. I'm SO happy with the result. The paint is like velvet and a dream to work with. No thinning out needed unless you leave the lid off for a spell. (I pour out what I need for one session). This piece painted like a dream and seemed to be waiting to be beautified. I bought it used and even though it's not top quality this paint made it look luxurious! I've since totally changed the look of vintage metal light fixtures with this paint and they came out fabulous!I've also mixed it with darker colored chalk paints and have created the most beautiful custom colors. This stuff is great and I highly recommend splurging on it!

I've used this on cabinets, stairs, furniture. Very easy, spreads evenly and it lasts. I've even done cabinets with no prep, it was worth the extra money for less frustration.

This was very user friendly paint, applied like a latex paint and a beautiful off white color. I would say that although it doesn’t feel sheer, it took 3 coats to get the richness I was looking for, so may need more then one can depending on the size of your project. Would definitely buy again and will try their other colors as well!

Use it as paint wash. My hutch turned really cute! Super recommended

Only negative of this paint is the price. Price has increased 20.00+ per quart over the past few years. Even with the huge increase in price, it is still my go to paint for furniture and cabinet finishing.

The TV stand I purchased. The lady was kind enough to share the paint info so we could add in furniture pieces to match. The sofa table is what we did and I love how it turned out. Paint goes on a little heavy so I added a little water which helped. Dries fast and smooth and took several coats. It is A little expensive for a quart size but it’s well worth it in the end. The container is sealed very well with metal clips so not a problem at all in shipping.

I used General Finishes Water Based Milk Paint in the Alabaster color to refinish my living room coffee and end tables. They were originally a honey oak finish. I sanded the top and refinished it with a less shiny oak finish, but used the Milk Paint on the rest of the tables. With a just a light sanding and two coats, my tables were transformed to a very modern farmhouse look. It is so easy to use. I did look up some youtube videos for ideas. A great product I would recommend to anyone wanting to try milk paint!

I love the finished night stand I painted. The white is difficult to use and if you miss a drip you are basically stuck with it. Take your time and your project will be easier. Plan to do the other stand and the dresser.
