You can even use it on your pets who have cuts, wounds, or skin infections, just dilute it with water so it has the coloring of medium iced tea, to make sure it is not too strong, so it won't irritate your pets. Instead of consistently starting oral antibiotics, or putting antibiotic ointment on scrapes and cuts, using povidone is a much better option, as you won't build up resistance to antibiotics from overuse, yet it is powerful enough to kill any bacteria and and prevent infection.Please note, povidone iodine is naturally brown in color, so when applied, it will stain the skin a light brown color.
