McNett - Tentsure Tent floor - Waterproofer

Given a 25 year old and much lived tent a new lease of life so love this stuff

I used Tentsure on the footprint groundsheet of my 24 years old Terra Nova Hyperspace tent. It was straightforward to use and there is still plenty left for the groundsheet of the inner as well. The only criticism I have is that the fabric of the footprint is now nowhere near as flexible as it was originally and makes a noise like the crinkling up a cellulose sweet wrapper when folding it for storage. Not sure if it is my fault (too heavy-handed??) or a property of the product, or maybe because my footprint groundsheet was in such a dilapidated state that the Tentsure soaked right through to the other side, which obviously could have made the layer of product too thick. Whatever, I am happy with it since it has saved me a shedload of cash buying a decent quality replacement. One word of warning, check your rubber/nitrile/polythene gloves are intact, there was a small split in one of mine that I hadn't noticed and I discovered for myself that the PU coating adheres exceedingly well to skin and fingernails. Oops!

If you have some old bags/rucksacks or camping equipment that is PU-coated (that matt stuff coating that is on the inside face of the fabrics) you know that they will deteriorate with time. This proofer may look like is expensive, but it's going to make you save a lot of money by not having to buy new stuff. Have a look at the picture for before/after the use of this proofer. I just used an old flat brush (discarded from my GF hair dye kit) that is easily cleaned with water after. Dries fairly quick, you don't need to use a lot but make sure you can scrub the old flaking coating first

Used this to retreat interior surface of my nylon flysheet (on a 25 yo Quasar) - the PU coating has deteriorated in to a sticky glue-like consistency that made separating (peelig it apart) the flysheet a nightmare: I washed off the old coaitn as much as possible by soaking in in a bath overnight in detergent, then rinsed and dried before spraying this stuff evenly all over. Now it doesnt stick togehter and no longer feels tacky to the fingers. Well happy and manufacturer doesnt do retreatmetn and will no sell replacement flysheets, just a whole new tent - which even with their offer of a 30% reduction was ~£700!

Fantastic stuff needed for inside a tent where the layer on inner material had come away in places done the trick. Dries fast also goes on well perfect item for any camper.

It let the water in

Took some time to get here, but was exactly what we expected.

This stuff is great! I purchased it to restore the waterproof layer on our bakfiets rain hood. Its waterproof coating wore out and rain was dripping on my children while they rode inside the bike. I was skeptical that this product would actually work, as many of my friends who ride bikes have tried other spray-on waterproof treatments that didn't actually work for this purpose. This was easy to apply - I used a paint brush to apply a thin coat, let it dry, and it was practically restored to new-like condition in 24 hours. The rain hood has now gone through 2 rain storms, and no more leaking at all! The coating is still intact, and looks like it will stay on for quite a while before perhaps needing another application. I am VERY happy with this purchase, this saved from having to spend nearly 300 euro on a new rain hood.

In einem 11 Jahre alten JW-Zelt löste sich innen die Beschichtung bröselte weg. Boden bei warmen Wetter mit Witschequaste eingestrichen und zwei Tage trocknen lassen. Sah alles gut aus, klar ohne Flecken, bröselte nichts mehr nach Zusammenpacken Zelt. Beim ersten (sehr starkem) Regen weichte der Zeltboden trotzdem komplett durch und dank dem Seamgrip klebte auch noch alles ... also Wirkung gleich 0. Nach Trockenen Zelt war der Boden zumindest nicht mehr klebrig. Schade. 20,00 zum Herrn und das zelt nach dem Urlaub ebenfalls in die Tonne (schnüff ...)

Zeltwand von innen, in großer fläche nachdichten, weil ex PU-Schicht sich durch reibung verabschiedet hat. Es funktioniert!

Sehr gutes Material - habe meinen alten TNF-Rucksack innen neu beschichtet - nach 24h trocknen und 4 Wochen test kein Abrieb. Auftrag sehr einfach und keine wirklich üblen Dämpfe von Lösungsmittel.
