Outlet Spacers - Electrical Outlet Box Extender Kit by SPACERR - Electrical Switch and Receptacle Spacers 22 Pack (6 Tubes and 16 Screws)

These spacers are made from semi-hard rubber (which wasn’t obvious from the description or pictures) and intended to be custom cut-to-length to fill a gap between an outlet/switch and outlet box.Installation involves unscrewing the outlet/switch from the outlet box and pulling it out of the box enough to access the body of each screw. Then, place a cut-to-length spacer on each screw in between the outlet/switch and outlet box. Reattach the outlet/switch to the box and adjust the height of the outlet/switch to sit firmly and flush with the sheetrock. If the original screw isn’t long enough to thread into the outlet box, use one of long screws provided by the manufacturer.Suggest cutting the spacers a bit longer than the existing gap. Adjust the height of the outlet/switch to sit flush with the sheetrock by compressing the spacer as you screw the outlet/switch back into the outlet box. Under compression, the spacer will hold the outlet/switch more firmly in place.Simple, cost effective (and maybe even somewhat elegant) solution. Recommend keeping a few of these with your electrical tools, you’ll likely find a need for these in the future.BTW there are electrical building codes which describe how-to correct a more significant gap. Beyond ¼” or so, suggest looking into other options (like a box extender).

The kit is nice and extremely easy to use, I recently had my bathroom remodeled, the 4 gang box was too deep in the wall, hung tile on the bathroom walls. These spacers helped me with recessed gang box in my wall, it brought the recepitcal flush to the wall where I could finally install my 4 gang box cover plate

You can cut these to the length needed for each switch or outlet and the switch/outlet cover will be flush and look very professional. They do compress slightly but it doesn't make too much of a difference so long as you're in the ballpark. For the price, give then a try and I'm sure you will be impressed.

Two the screws were bent, description said 22 items but only received 21.

I was having so many issues with our house because the boxes are so recessed behind the drywall to get the new outlets, switches, and even light fixtures to line up properly be flush with drywall - These are AMAZING! Highly recommend!!!Tip: cut them about 1/8” longer than needed because they are slightly squishy so when you are tightening the screws in that it compresses it slightly so you don’t have any play in movement of the switch/outlet/fixture plate
