So Good!
I know next to nothing about Ethiopian food, but I decided to try this and I’m glad I did. The basic recipe (onion, garlic, ginger, maybe jalapeño if you like extra heat, some berbere, the shiro, and water) is very easy. The sauce thickens nicely as it simmers. One pound will make four meals for us (with couscous, bread and salad), so this purchase is very kind to my wallet. The order was shipped immediately. I’ll buy it again and I’ll try other offerings from Brundo. It’s not often a product appeals to my taste buds, budget, and politics all at once.

We have an Ethiopian child living with us right now and he requested Shiro Wat. I was intimidated because I had never made it before, but it was very easy with this mix and he loved it! It was spicier than I'd anticipated, although that could also have been the niter kibbeh I used. Anyway, it's pretty great how easily this makes a chickpea stew!
