Q: How "waterproof" is waterproof? Thanks

Not very. OK for a light drizzle or short ride, but for longer rides (300+ miles/day) it will soak through after an hour or so. However, this is true for all such jackets, even the very expensive ones. Bottom line: if you need real waterproof, you'll need a real rain layer.

Q: Will this jacket work in 32f to 40f temperature? i am going for biking trip near himalayas. can someone let me know if this will work during low 30s F

I'm good for a 1 hour ride at 40F. I wear two layers under it. I add a balaclava to keep my neck warm. My hands and feet get cold before my torso.

Q: Does the inner thermal liner extend to the sleeves or is the liner just a vest?

The liner extends to the sleeves on this jacket. A great jacket for the money. It is now my "winter" jacket. I moved from Alaska, so know winter.

Q: Do these fit more American style (loose) or European (tight)?

More American style. Bought an extra large and was on the money size wise. Nice jacket.
