Note: These Aren't Psychic Headphones
Overall, I'm happy with these headphones, but they are sometimes completely useless. These headphones are enticing because I work in two different environments, depending on the day and time: some times I'm in the office, other times I'm out in the shop. In both of these environments, being able to hear other people around you is really important (especially when operating machinery like the forklift).I did a good bit of research before buying a pair and every gave the same explanation for these things: these headphone work by bypassing your Outer/Middle Ear and Eardrum and going straight to the Inner Ear/Cochlea. Something that's rather important that EVERYONE leaves out- and, parenthetically, I really should have thought to ask- is what happens when sound comes from both directions. The answer, as you might imagine, is that the louder noise wins some degree depending on the difference between the two: your Inner Ear is still a bottleneck going to your brain and therefore outside sounds may significantly impact your ability to hear the headphones (ergo- not Psychic Headphones). Here are some concrete examples so that you can get an idea of whether or not these will work for you:Office vs Headphones @ low volume: (Ideal scenario) Once your ears adapt to the volume of the headphones, they sound perfect and I don't even notice the ambient office noises (computer under my desk, printer down the hall, other people talking casually in other offices). When someone walks in to talk to me, they're loud enough that I can hear them perfectly wellCar vs Headphones @ low volume: Car/traffic ambient noises are perceivable, but the headphones are still perfectly easy to hear. I imagine you should still be able to hear honking/sirens perfectly well.Office vs Headphones @ mid+ volume: You can only hear the headphones; you might barely hear someone else come in, but you definitely need to pause your music/podcast in order to hear what they are saying.Weedwacker vs Headphones @ max : Weedwacker wins for the most part (could make out some of the music, but none of the lyrics)Lawnmower vs Headphones @ max: Barely hear the headphones at all: you can catch snippets here and there, but basically worthlessChopsaw (on metal): Chopsaw only: I absolutely cannot hear anything from the headphonesForklift vs Headphones @ mid: I put this out of order because it's actually a surprising result. Because the forklift is pretty loud, I would have assumed that it would drown out the headphones like the lawnmower did, but for whatever reason this isn't the case. I actually can hear the headphones decently well (words/lyrics on podcasts/songs do not get lost) and can still hear when other people are around me (at least, as well as you normally can while on the forklift). The other thing to note is that these headphones actually come with earplugs: I assume this is to encourage you to confirm that they are not simply little speakers near your your ears; that they are in fact conducting the noise into your skull. This is interesting because it does point out that you can make the headphones work in loud environments using earplugs (and, in fact, I know people who work in environments that *require* the use of earplugs for safety reasons, so these would actually be great for them). However, for many people who are buying these for the "Open Ear" prospect, this seems highly ironic. So, overall, I have in fact been getting use out of them, but depending where I'm at and what I'm doing I have to swap out to an in-ear headphones, which can be a bit tedious.

Best fit, best sound
This headset is by far the most comfortable of the bone conducting earbuds that I found on Amazon. I tried on and wore several sets, and others made my ears hurt or pinched my head in a weird way and could only stay on for maybe 30 minutes, while this set sits just right on my head and stays where it should for long sessions. I'm getting much better sound than expected, plus I can wear with my glasses or sunglasses, so they really can be on for long stretches. Highly recommend for music, podcasts, and for phone calls. I'm finding that the sound is so good I'm hearing less of the conversations taking place around me in the office than with the other headsets I tried, I mean just a HUGE difference. Very impressed, great value for the price.

Almost good, but the manufacturers apparently forgot one important thing!
I am on a quest. To find the best bone conduction headphones. This was my second challenge and sadly, while these were better than my 1st challenge, the manufacturer made a serious mistake. Read on..Since this is a fairly new technology, we need to know what we're actually buying. These headphones ARE transducer bone conduction.. Keyword here is conduction. Lets look at it a little more. There are basically two methods of creating sound. Speakers and transducers. While these are in some ways the same, there are key differences. Speakers have transducers, on big speakers, the paper cone and magnets all work to make sound audible. Huge speakers you see when you go to a concert are essentially the same as the smallest ear buds you put in your ears. Just a lot bigger and powerful."A speaker is a type of transducer that converts electrical energy (the audio signal) into mechanical energy (the vibration of the speaker cone and diaphragm). This vibration transfers kinetic energy to the surrounding air, which results in sound waves that can be heard. The speed of vibration determines the frequency." (Geek fact: There is no sound on the moon since there is not enough air to transfer the kinetic energy into sound.)But for bone conduction headphones, they must touch the bone for actual bone conduction."How bone conduction systems work. Bone anchored hearing systems are designed to use your body's natural ability to transfer sound through bone conduction. The sound processor converts sounds into vibrations, which are then sent through your skull bone and directly on to your inner ear." This is no different than you eating something crunchy and hearing loud sounds yet people nearby likely hear nothing or very little crunching sounds. it's all bone conduction, just thru your jawbone..With a true bone conduction transducer, it's basically the step before the speaker creates audible sound. With true transducer sound, the bones in your head near your ears essentially become the speakers. It transmits to the cochlea and you hear sounds. Make sense? Of course, there is still some audible output but it's not very loud as there is nothing connected to the transducer until it comes in contact with your head. You are the speakers! Try putting your transducer headphones on a box, it'll make the box the speaker..:)These headphones are true transducer headphones. The sound is actually pretty good when the transducer is in the correct spot near your ear. The problem with these is not the sound technology, but I suspect the manufacturer used Asians to decide on the headband sizing and their fatal mistake was making them FOR Asian heads and not Americans who are generally going to be larger. Women and children likely will find this smaller size acceptable but for many adult males, they are simply much too small. Since there isn't anyone I'm aware of making these adjustable (maybe someone will?) there is no latitude to make them fit, either they do or they don't. These didn't fit me and i don't think my head is particularly large. I liked the sound and was tempted to keep them, but any head movement made them shift away from the right spot for optimum sound. I tried them for a few minutes and set up a return to Amazon.I've ordered my next challenge and it'll be here on 12/17/19 so we'll give them a try in a few days and i'll do the same review. i've gotten more expensive in each trial. So we'll see what happens next.FYI: I decided to do this because of Amazon's return policy. I am buying these, there's no freebie's on these various units. Of course, if companies want me to review their products honestly, feel free to contact me.

Very good bone conduction headphones
Overall these are a very nice pair of bone conduction headphones for the money. First these are real bone conduction. They come with a pair of earplugs, and are well constructed and seem pretty durable. They’re light, comfortable and stay in place.Bluetooth pairing is easy and rock solid. The 5.0 Bluetooth is a huge plus. Battery life is good, and it charges reasonably well. You can answer calls and adjust the volume using buttons on the right side. They’re also inconspicuous and can easily be worn with eyeglasses and/or a hat.As with most bone conduction headsets sound quality is not the best - base response is minimal - but it’s more than good enough for both music and calls and allows you to hear the outside world. There’s also no sound leakage.Overall this is a quality product and one I would recommend to anyone looking for this style of headphones.I was not compensated for this review and have no relationship with the seller
