I bought this for my Chemex, but use it in my single pour over device as well. Cleaning reusable filters is always my #1 concern, but this is no trouble at all. The rubber ring at the top that keeps is firmly in place for the Chemex pops right off and goes back in easily. It does not interfere with the water dripper.

TL;DR: It filters "sludge", trade off is speed. One week of use so far.My set up is a burr grinder, kettle with a goose neck spout, and the $18 pour over carafe featured when you search "4 cup coffee pour over".The filter that came with the carafe is cheap and left grain and powdered coffee into the brew. I changed the grind size for larger and smaller to see if it would get better and nothing.A little research brought me to this filter. It's slower (takes about 2~3 minutes for 4 cups), but filters clean and smooth coffee. I'm currently working through a cheap bag of beans and it tastes better than most coffee shops.Can't wait to see what it does with quality coffee beans and if it slows down more after a few weeks of use.

I've been making Pourover Coffee with this as my filter for awhile now. It works just as well as a paper filter for my technique, and the flavors are excellent. This goes over my Chemex pourover. I use a gooseneck kettle with a temperature setting to keep the water at exactly 205F, and a Virtuosa+ grinder. I also use a separate Nespresso Milk Foamer.This keeps the water flow steady as the hot water dissolves the grounds, but it's not too fast a rate that the water can't dissolve the coffee from the grounds.Pourover is all about timing and ratios. The rate of water flow through the grounds and out is managed passively by this pourover cone. I can control it somewhat with the gooseneck on the kettle as well.So anyway, I no longer use paper filters. It's one less thing to throw away. And I re-use the coffee grounds in my garden; they're easy to remove, the cone is easy to rinse and pat dry.

This filter wasn't working for me and Barista Warrior took full care of the situation, long after I'd put the filter in a cupboard and forgot about it. I'd love to find a solution that reduces paper waste and works with my brew process and will absolutely buy from BW should the opportunity arise. Great company, buy in full confidence!

Perfect filter for my Chemex and don’t have to use/throw out paper filters everyday. I just rinse it daily and wash once a week.

My wife calls me a coffee snob. I prefer to say I only choose to drink good coffee. Whatever the truth is, I tend to spend more money than I should on my home coffee bar. I have a $400 coffee grinder and at least 10 different brew methods. My go-to method is a Chemex with a V60 as a close 2nd because of overall flavor and cup purity.I picked this up because I got tired of tossing one or two filters every day. The TL:DR version - after some setup, this makes a great cup of coffee.This filter does a decent job of keeping grinds out of the finished brew. To test, I brewed coffee using my standard settings, tasted the coffee, and then poured through a typical filter. There were a very small amount of fines left in the filter, but I expect that's partly a result of using a really good grinder. Using a lower quality grinder would likely result in more fines and more cup chewiness, but still far less than what you would expect from a French press.The major benefit, aside from waste reduction, is the preservation of the bean that are generally captured by a paper filter. This means a unique and flavorful cup after some time is taken to dial in the brew process. Changes in grind, temperature, size, etc make significant differences in the cup but the result of effort is a fantastic and unique cup of coffee.This is an excellent step up in the overall coffee experience that works for both the V60 and Chemex. The only reason for a reduction in a star is the overall fit in a Chemex. It sits right down in the filter section instead of resting slightly on top. This makes it a little more difficult to pull out and clean, but is really a minor issue. If this was another quarter inch taller or wider it would be perfect.

I ordered this for my Chemex pour-over system as I’m getting into making real coffee. It’s been a journey, and I’m still a novice, so I started with this filter, thinking it would be a good alternative to paper—more eco-friendly and cost-effective.However, I found that it produces a watery and somewhat flavorless brew (it’s not my ratios - I've also tried with many adjustments). I believe this is because the mesh isn’t as fine as a paper filter, allowing water to pass through too quickly, which throws off the extraction and timing. After switching to paper filters for a few brews, I immediately noticed a richer, more balanced cup.That said, if you don’t mind a slightly different brew profile, this could be a good reusable option. It’s durable and easy to clean—I’ve been using mine for months, making multiple cups a day, and it’s held up well. But if you’re after a more controlled extraction and fuller flavor, paper filters might be the better choice.
