Was this hat effective while hiking in the desert to Havasupai? Yes. Was it fashionable? Hell no. Did I get burned? NOPE. Overall I don't care how it looked, it was super light and squish-able for my backpack, kept my face and neck from getting burned for 10 miles of canyon hiking.

It's perfect for travel or hiking. Huge rim that does not flop down, it actually looks stylish, dries fast, loved the neck cover which was not cheesy at all, the neck tie is great. No complaints. I even washed it in the washer after my trip but hung dried it.

Looked at a dozen of these types of hats before choosing one to take on safari. This one worked out great. The elastic on the back made it a perfect fit for my head, but it's not adjustable so you may have to just try it one to know (doesn't fit my husband's super XL head).The ponytail hole was perfect for my long hair pulled up and the back flap covered my neck and shielded my ears. The strap under the chin is thin, but even once we transferred to a speed boat, it hat no problem holding the hat in place.The large bill was the best part as it was the perfect length to cover my whole face from the African sun.However, especially with olive green color, it makes you look like you should be on safari and didn't really translate well to our Mozambique beach resort for the second half of the trip (I bought a different sun hat from the resort boutique).The only real downside, is that I never wanted to fold the bill in two b/c I think it would have creased it and then worn very strangely so i had to pack it flat on the bottom of my suitcase. This worked just fine. I plan to wear this hiking in the future in place of my baseball cap as it has better coverage and is spf.

This hat is great. It not only keeps me from having to "stuff" my long hair into a hat, which creates a lot of heat, it looks great. I don't usually look good in hats. I actually had someone ask me where I purchased this because she had long hair as well and said it looked fantastic on me. It also fits well because my hair is now out the back instead of wound up inside, which eliminates horrible "hat hair". We hike and camp in a Desert area all the time and are also at Rivers and lakes. This is so perfect. I wish I had found this a long time ago. I'll probably order another one as back up.

Having a sun hat where I live in AZ is a must. Other hats are hard and uncomfortable for my small head but this one is lightweight so I don't feel it. The neck flap is a huge plus to protect my neck. Having the space in the back for my ponytail makes it super easy to transition from off to on in a flash. It also doesn't mess up my hair much at all. 5 stars

Camptrace sun hat is one of the lightest sun hat I’ve ever worn. It completely protects me from the hot sun & it’s breathable❗️I was a little concerned because I have long hair that I usually put into a pony tail before I do gardening. But to my surprise my pony tail fits perfectly without disturbing the fit of my hat. To add better wear if I want I can even tuck my pony tail inside the hat so my hair doesn’t get dirty from the soil or dust. I have to highly recommend this hat in any color they have. For the price it does much more than I expected... you will never need another hat ever... Thanks Camptrace 🌹

Water runs right off this hat. Huge brim. I got for Africa and Madagascar. Probably won't wear it much in the States because it looks like a safari hat- possibly for kayaking. I like that I can pull my long hair through; that it has a tie to hold it on in windy weather; The sun flap to protect my neck- which you can easily tuck under (as well as the strap) when you don't want it showing; air vents; very light and fold-able; it didn't get dirty, but seems like it would wash off easily if it did; and the price! Also, customer service seemed good, although I didn't need to use them. A very nice and sincere note comes with it that they will address any issues.
