Works GREAT with iPhone 4S and RunKeeper App
I wanted an inexpensive heart rate monitor for my walks and bike rides. I'm middle-aged and just starting to exercise after many years of being sedentary - I need to be careful not to overdo it. I did not want to spend a mint and didn't want anything big and bulky. Didn't want a big wrist watch. The strap itself is soft elastic with a hook (not velcro) fastener and is easy to adjust. I don't feel it when I'm using it - most exercise bras are a lot tighter. As soon as the app finds the strap (seconds) I'm ready to go. the RunKeeper app announces my heart rate and percent zone every five minutes. Very easy to keep in the target. I use a tiny dab of Spectra 360 Electrode Gel Parker Labs, Each 250GM Tube on each conductive patch and the monitor has picked up my heartbeat immediately every time from the first time I used it. I was able to establish a reliable resting heart rate in order to do the other calculations. This is an iOs device only. Highly recommended. It works with a large number of free and paid exercise apps.

Works well, but unsure of reliability
I am a physician and tested the unit against other ANT units and it measures up fine and is equally as accurate. It is very nice to be able to use a Bluetooth unit that syncs perfectly with the iPhone. With that said I have used the unit for about 2 weeks of testing so far and so cannot be sure of the long term reliability. There are some concerns:1. During one of my runs the unit outputted a heart rate of over 1 million causing the program to re-calculate my average heart rate in the hundreds of thousands. I don't know if this is a common occurrence or if it was an isolated incident, but I have never seen that happen with other units. It's also possible that it is related to the Bluetooth software on the phone.2. The strap is pretty flimsy compared to those from more expensive Garmin ANT monitors. On the plus side this makes it lighter, but on the negative side this could result in the strap breaking or the leads failing much earlier. It's hard to know for sure. Garmin units are usually rubberized in this section and contain the monitoring leads built in. These are patched onto elastic bands and appear to be a relatively thin. The product comes without the names of the programs it is compatible with, just pictures. My suggestion is to have the actual names so we can find the apps as pictures don't cut it.I have now used the device for a few months and the aberrant heart rate of over a million never recurred. I have observed over time that the unit does not work well if it is dirty & if you don't have it wet before you put it on. I recommend washing it and then putting it on your skin while it is still wet. This seems to work fine, otherwise you may wait up to 5 minutes before it starts registering. Other heart monitor belts that I have used are NOT as sensitive to needing water & to being clean. I'm guessing that this is because the construction of the leads is a little flimsier than heavier duty belts with the leads built in. The transmitter piece pops off and it looks like the battery is easy to replace. I have never had any problems with syncing it to the Bluetooth heart monitor apps and have used Wahoo Fitness and Runkeeper. Since the device can connect to Bluetooth audio and the b heart monitor at the same time, it is almost certainly using Bluetooth 4.0 (also called LE or Smart) which uses lower power similar or better than ANT. I would therefore expect the battery life to be as good as any traditional belt. Keep in mind that Bluetooth 4.0 is simply a different Bluetooth chip inside your phone sharing the same antenna. This means older phones won't work with the belt (ie only iPhone 4S and above & more recent Android Phones). It also means that the pairing process is NOT the same. You pair from within each app you choose and NOT from the settings manual. This means you have to hunt for the pairing instructions for each application and they are all different.

Terrible product only work for few weeks
I purchased this product 8 weeks ago and only used it for less than 2 months. It worked good and connect to my cellular phone (Moto X, Digifit) when I first used it. After few weeks my cellular phone had problem to detect the device. I changed the battery, but it still doesn't work because my phone can not detect the device at all. I even restarted my phone and rinse the belt again, but it still doesn't work. Now this device is totally dead! I tried to return the product to Amazon, but it was rejected because it has been more than one month after I purchased it. I tried to contact the seller and manufacturer for this problem, hopefully they will either fix or replace it for me. Keep my finger crossed.Update on 09/03/2014It has been two days since I contacted the seller and manufacturer by emails for RMA, but I still haven't heard from any of them. I am very disappointed not just because of the quality of the products, but also their service to support customers. I would strongly suggest you not to purchase this products due to terrible quality and customer service.Update on 09/26/2014I tried to reach their customer service again by email in last weekend, and I got response on this Monday. I am not sure if I am lucky this time, or my last claim email was overlooked. In the email their customer service rep is very nice by offering replacement without requesting me to ship back the defective one claimed. I received a new HRM yesterday and tested it by pairing to my phone. It works perfectly. This is the reason why I upgrade the rating from 1 star to 4 stars because of their excellent customer service, I will use the new HRM and update my experience if there should be future quality problem.

Spend a little more to get a less finiky product
Junk. Ok, maybe a little melodramatic. The best way to describe is "inconsistent". I purchased to use indoors with ZWIFT and CYCLOPS Virtual Trainer for the BLUETOOTH options. Outdoors, my equipment is ANT+. Unit connected 50% of the time. The other 50% it didn't even show up as able to be connected. After I really got sweating then 50% of the missed 50% would then show the band as discoverable. In other words, the sensors had to get really wet before they would register. That leaves 25% of the total times the nothing registered at all. When it did work, it was very sensitive. You had to have the unit perfectly centered to get good contact.Ended up just purchasing a WAHOO TICKER. The Ticker worked flawlessly from the first use.
