I am 59 years old and I have been on Vivelle Dot (Estroil) for quite some time and had no issues until recently; I also take 200 mg of progesterone (generic prometrium). So, the estrogen has never been unopposed... Within the last year however, I began to experience extreme breast tenderness and quite alarmingly developed painful cysts in both my breasts (a common side effect of the drug). I cycled off the Vivelle Dot completely for 120 days and continued with the 200 mg of progesterone and began to include other supplements (brown seaweed, mistletoe extract and Dandy Blend with roasted dandelion root) to clear excess estrogen and that resolved all but one cyst. I continued to search for a solution and found information on a British women's heath site that recommended Chaste Tree in a dosage of at least 400 mg. daily to resolve. I have only been taking it for a few days (both morning and night) and I already notice a decrease in the breast pain and size of the cyst.

Use: I've been looking for a supplement that increases dopamine sensitivity. Dr. John Gray (author of Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus) recommended Vitex as a useful (and effective way) to re-sensitize the brain to lower levels of dopamine. It arrived yesterday and I immediately took one capsule, of 225mg, then another an hour or so later. Within 20 minutes, the motivation was there. It's not a 'GO-GO' type of motivation, it's more of a, "this needs to be done, so I'll do it now and get it over with" type of motivation. Just what I was looking for. I'm interested to see how vitex improves my life in other areas. Likes: Pure Encapsulations has quality products. Sometimes I get detoured by the price (as compared to how much I get), as compared to the price (and how much I get) with other brands. But the quality is definitely there. I use this to control cyclical mood swings. Started working right away. I take every morning, same time, just as you would a birth control, but instead of keeping me from being preggers, it keeps the crazies away.
