Good replacement switch for Delta tools
Was a direct replacement switch for my Delta drill press at less than half the price of ereplacement parts.

tricky small mounting dfferences
The switch operates well, getting it mounted properly and appear as it should required swapping some of the mounting parts from the original switch, For a plain surface mount box installation with 8-32 screws it should be fine but mine was on a delta upright combination sander with a single gang metal box BELOW the outer surface. I swapped the intermediate mounting parts to re-use the 6-32 screws to achieve perfect fit results.

Nice switch for the money
Bought this for an air compressor. Quality seems to be pretty good. The front bezel and buttons are plastic but the body of the switch and the actuators are Bakelite. The switch has a pretty nice positive snap action which should help the contacts last. The terminal screws are a little small but I had no trouble getting 12 AWG stranded wire under the clamp plates, which tightened down nicely. The provided screws which hold the bezel (and also hold the switch into position) are metric and need to be replaced with 6-32 screws to fit a standard US handibox. Pan head screws and little washers worked best here. I used a 4X4 electrical box along with a switch collar plate to mount. I have only been using this switch for a few weeks but it has been solid and works well so far.

works and looks great and a BARGAIN
I built a router table into my table saw, I needed (wanted) a easy to shut off power switch for the router (so I don't have to reach below the table). This switch fit the bill, in fact if you research, most router table manufactures sell this same switch at a significant premium with their branding and a mounting plate. In summary: this switch is easy to use, especially easy to "turn off", easy to mount, high quality, all at a very reasonable priceFor ease of installation, the wiring diagram is included on the side of the switch. These were so inexpensive, I bought extras. Since that time the switch on my 25YO shopvac failed. It was an easy job to use one of these. Actually much easier to turn the shop vac on and off now.

Product design errors, but the switch works...
POWERTEC 71008 110/220V Single Phase On/Off SwitchThis manufacturer apparantly never attempted to install this switch themselves. If they had, they would have immediately recognized some three issues:- the two screws that hold the cover to the switch mechanism are metric and don’t fit weatherproof (or steel) boxes available in America, which are threaded for 6/32 screws.- the switch mechanism is too deep to fit a standard 2" deep weatherproof box without modification.- the plastic cover is too soft – if you over tighten a mounting screw, it will countersink into the cover itself. On the plus side, it’s not expensive, I was successful in mounting it, and it works. There are no doubt many ways to mount this switch other than how I did it...This switch is sized, height/width wise, to be mounted in a weather proof box; a metal box is stronger than plastic. But..., you’ll need a metal “weatherproof box extender” for the switch to actually fit (available via Amazon/Lowes/Home Depot etc.). Search Amazon for: TayMac SE000SAn extender will add 1" depth to the box, providing room for this switch and its wiring. Attach the extender to the weatherproof box with the 4 provided #6/32 x 1.25" screws. Feed wires through proper electrical connectors/clamps screwed into the box’s threaded hole(s). Securely attach the (metal) box to your tool with two or three machine screws/nuts.Remove the switch’s two mounting screws, lock washers, and nuts and replace with 1" long 6/32 machine screws with small washers to spread the pressure on the soft switch cover.Attach the ground wire to the metal box’s green screw (if it’s a plastic box, just cap the ground lead). The switch itself is not grounded, since it has a plastic body. Connect the incoming hot (110v) or hots (220v) to the LINE terminal/s and the tool wire/s to the corresponding LOAD terminal/s. Screw the switch and the cover onto the box extension using 1" #6 (with washers) machine screws.Refer to photo for this switch installation.
