Lot of Knife for the Money
I bought this knife block for myself for my wife's birthday. I previously bought a Rada filet knife and was impressed, so I decided to buy this set when I was looking to replace a 20+ year old block that held a mess of mismatched knives. These knives are great quality, very sharp, and look nice with the brushed aluminum handles. I also highly recommend the Rada Quick Edge sharpener - a few pulls through the sharpener every once in awhile and they're back to like-new sharpness. Despite having aluminum handles I find them to be very well contoured and comfortable to hold. You might think it's kind of lame to include a peeler with a knife set, but this peeler is amazing. It's super sharp and does a great job on potatoes. Easily the best peeler I've used in my life. The fork is maybe a bit of a novelty item, but I've used it a few times and works well for carving/slicing meat when used with the slicer. The "old fashioned" butcher knife is excellent. Great for handling raw meats and I've used it to butcher a rabbit or two. The curved blade works extremely well for getting meat off the bone.As others have said, don't let these go through the dishwasher - the aluminum handles will tarnish to a dull grey. If they do happen to go through the dishwasher by mistake you can polish the handles with Brasso or a similar metal polish to remove the layer of oxide and get them shining again. The only downside to this set is that there are a bunch of very similar knives. The super parer is basically just a longer version of the parer and the "utility" knife is nearly identical to the super parer. It wouldn't hurt if it came with a serrated bread knife, although the big long slicer does alright on bread.I highly recommend this made in USA knife set. You won't be disappointed.

Best knives I have ever used! From a chef that has used knives from all price ranges!
Got my first Rada knife 10 years ago from an omish bakery and country store. Feel in love with the one piece solid blade and handle and the sharpness of the blade is unbelievable. I had the chefs knife and used it for everything. Bought this set and my wife was asking why when we had 2 other block sets that we got as gifts from our wedding. Once she used them, she fell in love with them as well and gave the other two block sets away. These knives are super sharp and stay that way for forever it seems like. My first Rada chef knife lasted 8 years with never having to sharpen it until our house burnt down. I hope these last like that one and we are very pleased with them in every way! Hope they add bigger block sets with steak knives included and kitchen scissors like some other brands do and we'll buy that one and give these to family or friends. Best knives I have ever used! This coming from someone who went to culinary school and have owned and operated 2 restaurants. Absolutely love them!

Great American Product
Made in the USA, Amazing quality and look and the price is amazing. I was some Cutco knifes by a friend about 2 years ago, and they were quite pricey, I thought its just the price of Good quality made in the US knifes, I obviously didnt know about Rada, they are beautiful first off, my wife loved them, they are as sharp or close to as sharp as Cutco knives and look amazing!

Tarnished Hands
I purchased this knife set about a year ago. They keep their edge and are well made but I can't use it. I can't use it because I placed a few knives in this set in the dishwasher which apparently is a no no with aluminum handles and the result is that the handles stain my hands black and I have to be careful not to transfer the aluminum residue to the food. Sorry but I can't make a good recommendation for this product. See Photo of before and after putting it in the dishwasher.

Very good set of knives for the money.
I had been looking for a new knife set for a few months. I wanted to get some good quality knives without spending 300+ dollars. My chefmate knife set had seen better days years ago after reviewing brands and prices it was between Chicago Cultery or Rada. I found the Rada S43 for 86 dollars and decided to get it. The knives arrived and are 10x sharper than any of my current knives. The knives are very light and cut effortlessly. Dicing garlic was so nice, and I managed to dice it so precise than before. Thus far it's been we'll worth my investment. They seem to be well made and good quality. Clean up is a breeze, just hand wash and dry. The only con for me is I wanted black handles, but it's starting to grow on me. The oak block matches my BoosBlock cutting board perfectly which was a nice bonus. The true test will be how long the knives hold up. I will recommend to people buying this set is to by a honing tool. Remember, use a wood or plastic cutting board, and after using your knife and cleaning it to hone it before each use. This will help keep it sharp and not require to sharpen the blade.

Better than expected!
Great quality knives; seem to stay sharp for awhile. This set contains a good assortment of knives that I use almost daily, without the froufrou items I really don't need and that only take up space. I have had a few Rada paring knifes for a few years; when I got the chance to get this set, I had to jump on it. The block is heavy and well made; the knives seem like they feel lighter than what I'm used to, but they work great. Very, very satisfied, and highly recommend these knives for yourself or as gifts.

Sharp but flimsy
The set is nice and cheap. The knives are all very sharp and look good quality however the blades are very very flimsy. My set of old farberware's are much thicker and feel safer and they cost half the price.
