Absolutely haunting..
I have admired this deck for a long time, looking at the images online. Over many years I have collected many tarot decks for the art, and thought that my day of wanting another deck just wouldn't happen. I do my readings with a traditional Rider deck, but when I saw this deck I was immediately drawn in. Emily's adaptations are beautiful, and profound; but I honestly felt that the Fae were calling me to work with them! and I don't say that lightly. The imagery and the colors are strong and compelling. Yes, you could do traditional readings with these cards, but I felt a meditative, almost sacredness coming off these cards. I have never said that about any other deck before! My college age daughter sat thoughtfully, going through each card carefully, totally mesmerized by what was presented. She doesn't read tarot, but knew that these cards were special as well. They will be my 'private' deck - to work with in a meditative way. I intuitively felt that I was given an invitation to come and learn. If any reader here, has read Karen Marie Moning's "Fever" trilogy about the Fae, you will definitely connect to these cards. They are big, which is needed to fully appreciate the artwork, and they are sturdy. What more can I say? Emily has given the world a very unique and magical deck!

Excellent and creative tarot deck
I got the Tarot of the Sidhe as one of my latest deck in my tarot collection. It is a faery/fae or more specifically a Shide theme based tarot deck. Firstly Schiffer publishing has done a wonderful job in getting this published. The cards are large measuring roughly 3.5 inches wide by 5.5 inches tall with black borders. The backs has a large faery glyph which is not reversable. It comes with a little guide book which explains the majors very well and with brief key words for the minors. The card stock is excellent and thick and comes with a nice sturdy box to store your cards. The cards themselves are really beautiful. The images are stunning, and highly symbolic, they are roughly based on the Raider Waite style. The colours are rich and vibrant. The deck is indeed unique. It allows one to open themselves up to new possibilities/ avenues and also to harness their intuition when doing readings. It really is a beautiful and breathtaking tarot deck with 78 stunning artwork. Many of the illustratins are unique and wondeful to look at. My favorite card would have to be the Sun as pictured in the front box cover. There are just to many unique and wonderful illustrations to pick from hence I highly recommend this deck for those who are in to Emily Carding's innovative artwork or to anyone who is looking to work with the Sidhe.

pretty deck
Amazing deck---I liked it because it goes with the Invisible Tarot deck (same author)--the art work is beautiful. I admit I probably would not have bought them if I hadn't already had the invisible tarot but, my goodness, what a deck. I love the LWB. Very informative/experiential deck--the author is a very interesting woman--love her. I don't know what to say---these are pure Celtic, romantic in the sense of mystery and poetry--they are perfect for meditation and connection with the source. Amazing info. They are based somewhat on classic symbolism with a lovely, ancient, mysterious bent. This is a course in Magick...much more than a simple divination tool. LOVE it.

Deeply connected to Earth and Spirit
I decided to write a review because this is one of the best decks I had bought in many years. First, the creation of the art was a natural process not an imposed one. The artist opened herself to the call of art, images flow spontaneously from her heart and her hands obeyed... The colors are strong, almost primary, but they moved the whole of me when I looked at them, they convey a message on their own as if they have a personality. The archetypes spring out of the cards with a unique earthly and warm presence, like if they were part of me. I have a sensation when looking at the cards, like if I had met them before in a dream... The artist invest the deck with a fresh approach to tarot structure. The suits are reordered in a way that add significance and make sense with the cohesive structure of the deck. If you are a tarot scholar or if you are an experienced reader you will savor the essence of the Sidhe. But if you are a new reader you can read with them too, if you let the cards speak to you, not you imposse other books meanings to the cards. You have to let the unique presence of the Sidhe speak to you. If you are a creative person, sensitive to nature and other realities you will find the deck a precious token with so many uses as your imagination dictate... The book is another work of art. Full of fine prose, poetry, spreads and even songs. Love the deck! The cards are more big than usual, strong carton, very manageable.

Fantastic deck.
The deck was fantastic. A bit eccentric, far more related to it's Golden Dawn cousin than that of the Rider-Waite deck in it's theme's and written interpretations, but the deck is a beautiful and inspirational journey into the world of the Sidhe. It's symbolism and colors are a magnificent portrayal of the mysterious underworld which these regal beings inhabit, and the deck's included oracle system provides a wonderful meditation and learning experience that remains to be uniquely true to every card. This is a high energy deck with a wild and sovereign display of the rich and majestic nature of the magical Sidhe. I liked it. :P -VDragonfly

A Gift From the Fey
The image of the Sun card - a bold glance and outstretched hand from an otherworldly and beautiful figure - makes it clear: this is an invitation from another place, a source of beauty, wisdom and power connected to this world but not of it. Emily Carding's artwork is vibrant, colourful, and at its best a trifle disturbing in the way that an encounter with The Other so often is. This is the Tarot from the Other Realm, and we pick it up in wonder and peril. The Images and the titles are evocative, and although I do not ordinarily like words on my cards, I found the words as useful, evocative and intriguing as the images themselves. A truly rare and unique gift to the community, the Tarot of the Sidhe invites endless contemplation, wonder and play.

Alternative uses are plausible for any deck such as this....
I too have been waiting for the release of this deck. I found this tarot to be artistically pleasing to the eye and very intense. There is a lot going on for the individual card which leaves interpretation up to the reader more so than most cards - but is this not the point of having different readers - you get their personal interpretation and insights from a very richly detailed cards - especially if they have extended time to spend with each card. A three card spread would be recommended for these cards. The answers are still there but don't get in a hurry reading these cards - let them speak - even if it takes longer. If you are patient, the answers are worth the wait with these cards - they just have more to say than most and may take longer to say it. If you move past the preprints on the deck and open your mind to the flow of the images an accurate reading is attainable. I do agree the cards can be distracting - these cards are meant for a more deep reading with lots of time involved. Unfortunately, the time is not always available for this type of reading, so I see the point of a less "busy" deck for daily readings. I totally agree that meditation is a more plausible use for these cards as more time can be spent with them in this manner. But please, do not throw them in the trash if you feel they are too busy - I sometimes use cards such as these that do not work out for reading and have a possible "storyline" to tell stories to children using the prints. Children love these type of impromptu stories with visuals - these would make excellent fairy tale cards - as long as the darker cards are pulled. However, I would not ever use them for readings as children would be much to sensitive to the energy readings collect.

These images “magically” speak to me as none other!
This deck / book combo is first rate! The images of this deck pull you into wonderful new understandings I haven’t “felt” with any other deck! The book that comes with the deck is very well written AND it’s written by the artist-designer of the deck! Each card image is newly created for this deck, not a RWS imitation, but an intuitive and inspired improvement that is THE top choice for my every-day user deck! Is so intuitive and easy to use with great card stock! I got a second deck, just to be sure I’d never be without it!
