Works Fairly Well
I have used saws for 45 years and have a whole gaggle of them from a Husqvarna 288, Stihl MS271, Husqvarna 455 Rancher and a host of smaller saws too. I cut a lot of firewood and do a small amount of tree work for myself and friends. I know chainsaws. This is my first electric saw and it has its pros and cons.Pros: It is quiet, obviously, and allows for cutting on Sundays or if needed, at night for a quick cut. Also, if I need to trim a log or cut an overlength stick of firewood, I simply grab this saw and do the job less having to check the fuel, add oil and then crank up a noisy machine.Cons: It most certainly has its limitations. First and foremost..... you CANNOT push this saw. You must allow it to cut at its pace and no more. If you reef down on this saw, it kicks its internal breaker and turns off. You then have to stand there and wait 15 seconds, plus/minus, and then turn it back on and go back to work. I have learned to work with this saw and now it's not an issue. With that said.... it's not the fastest cutting saw either. You let it do its thing and the job gets done but a gas saw cuts a LOT faster. Nextly, it has a weird built-in safety button on the handle that is a bit of a PITA. It's a good idea, especially for the amateur user, but it drives me nuts. Lastly, the batteries hold up for a fair amount of time and typically will allow me to delimb and cut up a small size (less that 12") tree, but you need to haul around two or three or four of them for a sizeable job. Lastly, Lastly...... for the performance... it is a heavy saw that weighs nearly as much as my biggest performance saw.In Summary: I like the saw, like the quiet and love the fact I don't have to mess with mixing fuel and hauling around gas and oil for a little job.It has its place and when used in that place...... it is Highly Recommended. I will be buying a small one soon for climbing tree work.

Good saw withnplenty of power.
Works well. Uses a lot of bar oil but that is normal. The chsin it comes with is junk and didnt last through 2 hours of use.

All the power you'll need...
I love this chainsaw! At first, I was hesitant ordering a battery powered chainsaw. But, I own a Greenworks battery powered lawn mower, weed eater, edger, and leaf blower. They all work great, so I hoping this chainsaw would be just as good.In the past, I have had to borrow gas powered chainsaws. I can honestly say cordless battery powered chainsaw worked even better! than the gas powered versions I've use. I was really surprised at the power and cutting ability. It was fast and easy to use.You will not be disappointed. I was hesitant at first, but NO longer!

Cutting more quietly will be great!
This arrived fully assembled, as delivered the chain was tensioned way too tight. It ran fine, after adjusting the chain tensioner. Much less noisy than my gas-powered saws, saw noise only sounds like gear whine and chain buzz, so working more quietly will be great. With battery it weighs about as much as a Stihl MS310, with battery it’s a little tail-heavy.It’s been said that the stock bar bends easily. The stock bar has thinner plates than ones on my gas saws, so I could see how the stock bar could get bent. So stock bar got put back into the shipping box not even used. Stock chain looks like a Picco-cutter low profile one. Note that the chain oil outlet feeds through the top tensioning hole in the bar.Closest replacement bar was one with an 8mm-slot and with top and bottom tensioning holes, like-sized at same distance from the slot as on the stock bar. I used a Tsumura 3/8 .050 bar from one of my Echos, and a Stihl 63PS chain couple of extra links longer than what the Tsumura spec’d (there’s some extra distance between the sprocket and bar mounts). It’s also been noted that the stock chain tensioner may 'malfunction', so that was replaced with a OEM Stihl 1123-07-1000 assembly - with two alterations. The Stihl helical gear inner boss needed to be shortened to match the depth of the stock gear, and the Stihl tensioner peg needed to be shortened and squared-off to match the height of the stock peg. Should be less likely to break. And the sprocket cover bar nuts were replaced with standard 8mm flanged 19mm-head bar nuts. Yeah, maybe the warranty may be voided because of my changes, but I’m not returning this saw anyway.

Gas is on its way out!!
I’ve always used gas saws but these days I don’t do much chainsawing and I never have gas around when I do. I bought a greenworks lawn mower last year so I already had batteries, so I figured I could try it out and see what it’s about. The first time I used it I was blown away by how fast it cut through a large pine log I had. Great power and good torque. Way more convenient than gas MUCH quieter, and powerful enough to rival any gas saw under $800, I recommend this to anyone who needs a saw periodically for light to moderate cutting. The only thing is you only have as much battery as you have, you can’t just fill it and go when it runs out. With that said the battery live is remarkably good and I haven’t even used half a battery at a time. If your on the fence, buy it and you won’t regret it!!

Frustrating tool from a great brand name.
I bought mine on November 16, 2021. Now i use it and it continually just dies. The battery could be fully charged and it only works for 30 seconds or so and then cuts off. Like there is an auto shut off kicking in. So frustrating. i regret the purchase. I love my Greenworks tools- except this one.

Fantastic for homeowners.
We love this saw! It's very easy to use and has an amazing cutting ability. No more pulling a long cord. The battery lasts long enough for every job that we have and recharging is super easy.
