Pilot Electronics CA-8801SZ Flameless Rechargeable Elighter, Silver

Product was defective out of the box. Did not function whatsoever even after charging and troubleshooting. Terrible build quality, ugly 2000s era silver color when viewed IRL. Even went as far as to solder a USB-C charging port to replace the flimsy default plug, still didn't charge.

I have a much older metal version of this lighter that no longer works, this was the only replacement I could find. I was concerned about how cheap this plastic version felt but gave it a good try. I’m impressed. It works. Seems sturdy enough (for my uses) so far. Charge lasts about 3/4 of advertised, which is good enough for me. Overall, it’s the one I pick up every time I choose which lighter to use and it’s working great still without being annoying about recharging time. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Has never worked, made with cheap plastic and feel it could break in my hand at any time. Could not charge either lighter, purchased 2. I would have gotten more satisfaction throwing $7 out the car window.

It’s rechargeable, flameless, and works perfectly even in windy conditions. The sleek silver design is stylish, and it’s a great eco-friendly alternative.

When I first tried to charge it the blue light wouldn’t come on at all I had to keep trying it again and again about the 5 th try the blue light finally came on I won’t buy the one of these

I was sent 1. Does not work. Sent another. Does not work. Reached out to company for product support and did not hear back. DON'T BUY THIS. WASTE OF MONEY AND TIME.

Charged it up and let girlfriend use to light her cigarette. It works sort of the way that an old-school car lighter works. A coil that gets orange-hot and you touch the cigarette to it to light it. No flame is produced by the lighter and probably would only be useful to smokers.

I had first purchased one of these lighters about 4 or 5 years ago, and was quite pleased with it. However over the years it started to lose its charge, and then finally it would not charge at all. I then decided to get a new one to replace it, and found that the material used for the case was a much lighter metal than was previously used, resulting in a less robust feel. It still does its job as it should, so I can't fault it for that.
