Inside Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 1st Edition

I've made it about half way through the book so far and have found it very informative. So far, it is my favorite book (out of 5 I own) on AX 2012.Although I have found a couple paragraphs that are basically direct quotes lifted from the MS documentation for AX 2012, the vast majority of the content is original (that is, it is not recognizable (to me) as direct copy-and-paste from existing documentation).Further, there is information in the book that I have not run across in any of my reading of MS documentation or MS Customer Source training modules.Here is my current ranking of AX 2012 books that I've bought and received so far.1) Glad I boughta. Nothing wrong with the book, but, personally, I believe the above 'Using Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012: 2nd Edition' is a good bit better, and the two books are about the same price.3) Sorry that I boughta. Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 Security How-To (Ahmed Mohamed Rafik Moustafa)Aimed at administrators. A waste of money (you can read more in my review of the book here are Amazon).

Has great information for the developer in me and will be a great reference down the road. But what I was looking for this time was more of an implementation guide. Right there in the Introduction under the heading Who Should Not Read This Book, it states, "This book is not aimed at those who install, upgrade, or deploy Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012"Guess I should have researched a little closer. But again, it will be great once I get the implementation down and will be developing on the AX platform. And there is a section of BI reporting that I can put to use right now.

Okay for professionals in the field and for those with a background in Dynamics AX 2012. Must be able to understand concepts and topics before reading. Not a beginners guide intended for mid level to senior level administrators.

Very detail but the emphasis somehow is not balanced.

I bought this book two years ago, it showed me the big picture of Ax2012 architecture and all the amazing news in technical sideIt's a must for an Ax techy ;)

It's ok, but nothing more really than you can find on the internet.I was expecting something deeper than this.

Great book, if you are new to Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 and you want to teach yourself about it and how to program for it.
