'Classic' Jurassic Park indeed!
Long before 'The Lost World: Jurassic Park' came into fruition, this was Topps's own sequel series to the first movie, and a bigger and wilder "what-could-have-been" then what was settled on for the movies. And now it has been collected in 2 omnibuses, starting with this first half.Scientists and soldiers go and bring Isla Nublar under control for scientific studying. Alan Grant and Ellie Sattler go as advisors but for their own reasons--although all three known raptors were killed, if the dinosaurs were able to breed without the island staff's awareness, surely there must be more raptors elsewhere on the island. They look for them, find them (in a scene no doubt taken from the end of Michael Crichton's novel), then a paid mercenary comes to take the raptors off the island. Long story short, the raptors wind up in central America, where a crime lord incorporates technology to 'train' the raptors to be invincible killers against armed soldiers. Of course, they break free and then wreak havoc within the jungle. Alan and Ellie reunite with Ian Malcolm and Robert Muldoon (who miraculously survived, which you'd have to suspend disbelief for this comic and take it as is) and together they try to deal with the menace that has reached its way into the mainland. What's especially great is how this story stays true to the characters, particularly with Ian Malcolm and his continuing chaos theory expositions, and you could picture the actors doing these scenes as you read them. If there's one nitpick, it's that the artistry is uneven. Overall, the 'Raptor' series was made up of sub-series with different chapters, all illustrated by different artists. It doesn't help any that IDW offers no forewarning explanation about this. In fact, it would've been interesting if they dedicated a page telling a brief history of the Jurassic Park comics. But that's just a nitpick. If you love the Jurassic Park movies, the first one especially, and wonder what kind of dinosaur adventures the characters would've gone on other than just keep getting stranded on the island, the fun entertainment this story offers serves.

Poor Quality
Whilst the stories within are interesting, all of the TPBs I've ordered from this series have been of sub-standard quality. The binding comes apart whilst the book is being read and page after page has come loose from the binding. Not worth the purchase.

My friend liked this a lot.
My friend is a huge fan of Jurassic Park Classics and he was astounded by reading this. This was a great addition to his collection, and now, I plan on starting a collection in Jurassic Park Classic comic books.

My 7 year old loves it!
My son doesn't put it down, he is a huge Jurassic park fan!! I was pleased to see that it was. Large comic book, not your typical thin, magazine type. It was definitely worth the money.

Awful
The original novel was great, but I was really disappointed with this. Stupid story and the artwork was bad so it was sometimes hard to even know what was happening. People should avoid this, in my opinion.
