Great Quality and Adjustability for Price
No one should be surprised if a chair ordered online does not perfectly fit their body as some reviewers complain (and therefore I discount those reviews). After all, chairs should be tried in a physical store. Grounded by COVID-19, I didn't have a choice when replacing my old and too-soft fabric chair. With lots of time on my hands, I spent hours researching task chairs for long computer work. With lower back issues, an adjustable lumbar support was essential, along with height and width adjustable arm rests. I am 6'1", so a gliding seat that could be moved forward to support my legs was also important. I also wanted a chair where the seat could be adjusted higher than 19". At my height, a standard chair can put my arms too far below my below-desk mounted keyboard tray. I also know that the firmness of a new chair will change over time with use. A new soft cushion would only get softer and more uncomfortable.I gravitated to the Hon brand because it is a well-established company that has sold office furniture for decades. I was also reluctant to buy a no-name brand chair from an unknown third party seller. This chair fits the bill. With an adjustable lumbar support, gliding seat, adjustable height and width arms, full swivel, and adjustable back tilt, it's a bargain at this price. The build quality is very high and it was easy to assemble. I think it's particularly good for taller people who want adjustments to get more leg support and seat height than usual. And yes, the fabric seat is firm out of the box but I actually think that this contributes to long-term comfort like high-end car seats do. I'm confident it will soften a bit over time. Another option would be the leather seat, but I can't speak to how it would feel.Yes, you can get a better chair for a lot more money, but I think the Hon Exposure is a great combination of price, quality and flexibility.

We have 7 in our office
Our office has come to accept that the perfect office chair doesn't exist. We like these, but we put rubber in line skate style casters on them, and we put on longer struts so they work as desk or counter height. The seat base is comfortable to all of our employees, and durable. The arms are hard plastic, which we think is great. They are adjustable laterally, and they don't get destroyed when people slide them under a table or desk (all of the rubber/foam/ leather do get destroyed). The back will support you if you lounge back, but sitting here typing only the top of my bottom is actually against the back, at my shoulder there is 6" between the chair and me. But that's ok. Sitting up straight is better for my posture and spine. I never noticed it until I started to write this review. So yes, if I ran this company I would allow people to choose the strut length, and type of wheels. For people who claims it falls apart, I'm thinking you just need to apply more torque to the bolts. Our chairs get used daily for years without incident, and we keep buying more. 2 just this month. While the oldest is about 5 years old. Which is the first time we have had an office chair last 5 years and still work and be attractive.

Perfect After a Simple Modification!
After researching chairs for two days I decided on this chair to replace my 10yr old Hon mid-back that still looks good. I had originally wanted to stay in the $150 range, but after reading the good, the bad and the ugly on all the other ones, none of them really stood out but this one.I am 6-01 and 210# and work at home at a computer desk 10-hours a day, and love to put my feet up and recline. The seat on my old chair was fixed, had no support and created lower back stress that no pillow could fix.Upon arrival and assembly I was very pleased with the looks, quality and build of this chair. Assembly was easy with the included hex wrench. The materials are excellent, seat is firm and I am sure it won't wear or bottom out. The mesh back is heavy duty and feels cool while sitting. With all the adjustments it can be set up to accommodate most people. (Seat moves front-back, lumbar up-down, raises very high, 2:1 seat reclines with back, arm rests up-down & in-out)The arm rests are wide, flat topped and rubber padded, making a great place to rest the corner of my keyboard. BUT, here is where the problem is, while reclining the arm rests are too far forward to work comfortably. Sooo, I took them back off and swapped them, R to L, L to R so they are angled backwards and reassembled. PERFECT position for reclining! You have to adjust them to the widest setting so they don't hit the back when it's upright, and they still touch ever so slightly, but I don't expect any wear. Additional benefits are that I can push the chair further under the desk when not in use, and play the guitar without the arms getting in the way!Spend the extra $50 and get a chair that will last another decade and feel good.

Basyx by Hon Mesh Task Chair - Comfortable, but tall
I saw other reviews that mentioned that the seat was hard, the chair was noisy, and the chair was tall.My seat is soft and comfortable. My chair doesn't creak or squeak. It is very tall though. I am 5'10" and at the lowest height my barefeet are flat on the ground. I wouldn't recommend this chair if you are shorter than 5'8".Overall, for me this is a great chair. Highly recommend.
