Big Ships come in Small Boxes
I have been a modeler for fourty four years. Tamiya, remains my go to manufacturer for warship modeling. I recently purchased my copy of their Yamato and am excited to get the build underway.But, let me add a few words of caution to first timers and novice builders. I would seriously reccomend building one of their 1/350 scale Yamato models first. The pieces in the 1/700 waterline ships are tiny. And, builders run the risk of permanently any parts dropped on the floor. Also, because of miniscule parts, the builds require a steady hand and some experience.Like with most projects, you will only ever get out of this kit what you put into it. Meaning, take your time. While your ship will not require as much detail painting, as a larger kit would, precision techniques are the rule. But the end result, for those willing to invest the time, are amazing. Tamiya has modeled one of the finest renditions of Yamato in a small scale. Great kit. Awesome ship!

Beautiful model
The model parts are in great condition with nothing being broken. The model even though be a 1/700 scale has alot of details even for being a smaller model scale. Would buy from this company again.

The plastic was high quality and fit nicely and it also gives you spares for many of the aa guns and the secondarys and highly detailed

It was a fun build. Not always the biggest fan of waterline models but fun nonetheless.

Not the best, but decent
The battleship was set to scale just fine, however, I would have enjoyed it more if it included a full hull ( did not have underwater hull ). In addition, the model comes with extra plastic parts for select pieces, so if one breaks or is lost in the process, you will likely have a replacement. However, this model requires some skill to piece together as some pieces will "make or break" the beauty of the model depending on their presence ( for example if you broke the barrels to the guns ), and the fact that all the pieces to this are tiny and fragile does not help. this also comes with two "weights" or metal rods that you glue to the center of the model. I'm not too sure why these are a thing but they make it feel a bit more sturdy. Overall I enjoyed piecing it together, but wish it had a more "complete" look to it.

Very accurate and very impressive model
A very nice model that is at the size to be accurate could be better, but for the price very impressive. My only complaint is that the model is deceptively hard to put together. Although, I would much rather blame that on myself than the model itself.Overall, recommended for anyone who wants a model of the Battleship Yamato in her 1944 appearance.
