Best printer I have owned.
Been looking at A3 printers for ages to mainly print maps for walking/cycling, trips away and general home office work. I looked at and compared many different makes and models, but this one seemed to keep coming up the best value and with good reviews. Out of the box, it's obviously big and lumpy, but I expected it to be, so not a massive problem and I wanted separate drawers for A3 or A4 paper to save faffing around, but makes it bigger. Setting it up was an absolute breeze and very painless. From switching it on, loading ink, a quick run through settings, setting up Air Print and printing the first document was literally less than 10 minutes! The speed of printing; even double sided is fast and the quality of printing on paper or photo is brilliant, and a proper play with the settings gives you easy options for sizing, layout etc. A big concern was printing costs, as the slow nasty Epsom thing I had before cost a small fortune in ink over the years, which is I know, how they make money on cheap printers. In the first few months I went berserk with this, printing off dozens of OS maps, documents, photos etc, and the ink colours are only now showing low. But I have just got replacements for less than £80 which should last me a long time now. All in all, very impressed and would highly recommend.

Excellent all in one
To replace my HP deskjet I carefully researched this printer and decided out of todays options this is the best. Order process was easy and speedy. The seller was really great, I had an issue over my delivery Availability due to work, they were fantastic pulling the delivery date forward ensuring I had the printer in only 2 days keeping me informed at all times. The all in one printer is brilliant - I read that the bottom (A3) tray remains protruding but to me, that really is no issue. I’ve simply cut a piece of card to cover the gap/exposed tray. Simply to ensure no dust gets into the machine. The printer is big but, I was pleasantly surprised that it’s slightly shorter in length than the one it’s replaced. The quality all round is superb from a great seller. So all highly recommended.

Won't allow non standard HP approved cartridges
I have purchased to non standard cartridge sets both are sold as compactable for my HP printer it appears You are blocking these cartridges and as such wish to return unit for a printer that allows non standard but compactable cartridges as my use is for home work and the cost of your cartridges are very expansive to a pensioner.

A3 Tray is a bit clumsy and looks shoddy. Otherwise a fine purchase.
Bought this to complement our Laser A4 B&W printer for use with drawings and other 3D CAD and ArchiCAD work. The quality of the output is perfectly fine, ensure you use good quality paper - cheap paper = cheap results!. By the time you've opened the capture tray, the A3 tray etc the overall dimensions are actually larger than those stated. Furthermore, there are photo's/videos online depicting an A3 tray flap to "finish off" the overall look of the assembled unit. Ours doesn't have this, so it all looks a little unfinished. see photo. So, being an AirPrint printer we've simply shoved the printer in our small storeroom and take some exercise when printing as our store room is upstairs!. Generally though, a good purchase!

Can ONLY scan A3 from the flat bed, no A3 sheet feed.
A3 support not what I expected, quite disapointed. With A3 paper loaded, the paper tray does not fully shut, see photo Paper catcher barely long enough for A3 paper, see photo how it hangs precariously over the edge. Otherwise, A4 handling, printing, 2 sided scanning all fine.

How many ways does this printer annoy me?
Its a printer and it prints. If only it was that simple. Firstly it is the size of a small country. I knew that when I bought it but I still find it ridiculous the size and weight of this monster. It replaces a Canon one that died, and does exactly the same job. The Canon printer was a third of the size. Remarkably, given the size, the A3 paper tray still sticks out even further. Nevermind, it prints fine. The ink costs a fortune, but lets ignore that. Why does it insist on accessing the wifi? I can't see any reason for this except for the manufacturer to gather further data on our usage. From a user point of view it just adds to the complication of setting it up and using it. You would think for such a "clever" machine it could do the simple jobs with ease? Try asking it to print on A3 and it will print in A4, despite having two trays, one for A4 one for A3. Try cancelling the print job half way through and it will throw a wobbly. Then you need to switch it off and start again. Printing a few sheets shouldn't be this difficult! Its a poorly designed and annoying machine to use, but it was the only option I could find for A3. Would I buy HP again? Not very likely.
