I've used Scrusher-branded shoe/boot brushes for decades, and have always been happy with how well they perform. I just purchased my second Big Boot Brush & Scrubber after the first one started falling apart after only three years, which was disappointing given how much more it cost than the standard Scrushers I purchased previously.In my prior experience at previous homes, my Scrushers lasted much longer than three years (usually 8-10 years before showing wear), but were always located on the shady side of the house. The Big Boot Brush & Scrubbers have been purchased for a new home that has full afternoon sun on the patio, where the Big Boot Brush & Scrubber has been located. Apparently the sun exposure is very hard on the wooden brush bodies, as that's what has been breaking down.I'm planning on keeping my new Big Boot Brush & Scrubber in a shady corner next to the back door, and will only put it out to use when needed. Hopefully this one will last longer than the last one did.

I didn't have to screw it down to anything. I just left it outside on the porch and it's heavy enough to work by holding a foot on the metal while scraping the other shoe.

Let me start by swearing I'm not a ringer. I need to say this because my review is going to be so gushingly positive that you might well think otherwise.In a bit of a role reversal (it seems like mostly women buy boot cleaners for their husbands), I bought this for my wife because I got sick of her tromping horse manure and mud onto the porch.Chaseburg Manufacturing, the manufacturer, is the kind of small American company that can renew your faith in capitalism. I say this because:1. This product is really well-built (hefty) and does exactly what you want it to do (cleans dirty footwear very effectively). The steel frame and the wood-backed brushes are both very solid and will last a long time. And when the brushes do finally wear out, they're replaceable. $78 was an extremely reasonable price to pay for a product this well-built.2. The manufacturer goes above and beyond to insure customer satisfaction. When I received my Big Boot Scrusher via this Amazon vendor it was missing one of the three small brushes on the bottom. Bummer. Rather than going through the hassle of getting a replacement via Amazon, I just called Chaseburg. The nice lady who answered the phone was very apologetic and mortified that I had received a product with a missing part. She promised to put one new bottom brush in the mail to me right away, no questions asked. But just two days later, UPS delivered a box from Chaseburg containing FOUR bottom brushes (i.e., the one missing brush, plus three replacements for the day in the future when the old one wears out), plus a Scrusher teeshirt (which, by the way, is kind-of cute). Between the cost of these brushes, the teeshirt, and the UPS 2nd-day delivery, I'm pretty sure Scrusher lost money on this deal. But they didn't whine about it, they didn't make me feel like a con-artist, they didn't demand that I show proof-of-purchase...they just did what's right. How can you not love a company like that? Especially one that manufactures its products in America, from American steel.The next time I buy a Chaseburg product (and I can think of several friends I'd like to gift with Scrushers) I'll be direct from them, via the Scrusher web site. May be a couple of dollars more expensive than buying via Amazon, but well worth it to support good people who try to do the right thing.Buy this boot cleaner. You'll be delighted.

I bought a knockoff version of this a while back because I did not see this one advertised at the time. The knockoff was hard to hold down with the wings on the side and if you have a size 13 or larger like me, it was a chore to push the boot through if you just used those hold down pads. This baby gets the job done for you clodhopper owners like me, it is heavy, you stand on one of the wings and it stays in place. Don't waste your money on the knockoffs, get the real thing with this Big Boot Schrusher.

This was an expensive item for me; I usually buy those cheap ones at the hardware store. But after the last one wore out and I found myself tracking mud into the house, I decided to upgrade. Glad I did. You have control over the direction you want to move your boot; if you have more mud on one side, you can turn your foot so that the brushes get it. Solid, stays in one place without nailing it down. Great purchase!

This works great to get all the wet grass clippings out of golf shoes (whether with spikes or spikeless). No more grass getting tracked into the house. We also plan to use it after hikes to remove dust or mud. It is large enough to work on hiking boots.

I mounted this scrubber on my front porch, works well and is easy to use once permanently mounted. Work perfectly on all types of boots removing wet and dry mud and debris. Well made and should last for years.

I've had plenty of cheapie boot brushes/scrubbers and was a little shy about paying so much for one. Boy was I wrong! This thing works great and it is very sturdy, and it's made in the U.S.A. What more can you ask?
