Quick As Water!
I have no idea what this part is for. I did know that something was leaking. My gardener said to buy this piece. Less than 24 hours, I had it. My came landscaper came over and made it work. The leak is gone. Thank you for the speedy response. (PS, I’ve been in this house for years. This is my first issue with my outdoor plumbing. The one that was removed was definitely very old! I am sure this one will last as long!). XO

So much better than plastic values
Learned long ago to use brass not plastic values and this is the best known brass. Been using them for a while. I even have a rebuild kit and I’m going to try it on the one I’m replacing. We have hard water here and the o-rings Do decay over time. Would warn you NOT to remove the solenoid ever. I did that on the one I’m replacing and it never worked automatically again. I tested everything and used a Orbitz replacement (which is different) and then tried again with an identical solenoid and it still won’t run automatically so I must have burned it out somehow (works perfectly on manual). Also be careful with the screws around the edge (hold in the diaphragm) as if you adjust them it will probably always have a tiny leak. But way better than anything else out there and I’ve been doing my own sprinklers for 30 years.

Got lucky ?
I have been ordering Orbit valves for years with good luck. This last order the valve works perfectly so I am happy. Prior to this though, the TWO previous valves all leaked from the actuator within days of installation. Did I have bad luck or good luck or is there an issue with these valves ?

True pieces of garbage!!!!!!
I purchased 5 valves to replace my plastic valves. I shut the water to the irrigation system and installed all 5. I turned the water on and all 5 leaked through the diaphragm seal. I said “no problem” I would tighten the screws. I tightened as much as I could. I tightened them evenly to ensure I did not over torque any section more than the other. Nothing... water still seeped through the screws and seals. I even thought it was water that was there from when I watered so I dried them with a towel. Within seconds the water built up.I figured maybe a bad assembly batch. I had repaired similar Champion and Superior valves so I took one apart. Put it back together and still leaked.I checked my line pressure and it was 85psi. Less than the 125psi rating. In summary. Garbage!!!!Don’t waste your money or time.I went to my local nursery and bought Champion ones. Yes they were $75 each but you get what you pay for. These orbit ones are truly junk if 5 out of 5 leaked.

working correctly
It worked perfect at first but developed a leak by one of the screws by day two. I was able to fix it by raping the screw with teflon tape

No more hand watering!
We had a sprinkler guy out to the house, and he could not figure out why our sprinklers wouldn’t work. Finally, my husband ordered this and voila! Sprinklers are working like new.

Great product
I have used these valves for many years and will continue to do so as long as they are available. However,My last order of two was delivered with one package seriously mangled. Thankfully the valve was not damaged.
