Good music history

This book was one of the most fun and informative books I've read in a long time. I grew up in the eighties when crossover became popular and all the big names like D.R.I. , C.O.C. , Cro-Mags and Agnostic Front are covered along with more obscure names from everywhere from Brazil to Orange County, CA. The Author really knows his stuff and his love of the genre really shines though. It was nice to see bands like China White getting their due and it's fun to read about some of the bands I was not aware of.

Author Alexandros Anesiadis has created an exhaustive and impressive piece of work. Clearly, Anesiadis is a world-class expert on the genre, and his passion for the music drips from each page. If you dig, dug or plan on digging the old school punk, hardcore, metal scene, this is an authentic, must-have guide.

the book is really good. but the cover was mangled when it arrived. not a used a copy, but brand new.

Great era in music, however hardcore was permanently damaged by the crossover phase, it became metal slow and stupid and spawned those lame NYC bands like Cromags, agnostic front, sick of it all, etc, which later spawned lamer bands like hatebreed.Whereas metal was pushed further and the reaction caused greatness like grindcore and deathmetal.

Best book for your crossover history hands down. Grab it while you can.

This is quite simply a brilliant book about Crossover. The authors knowledge is second to none. This to me is more often that not the go to handbook of hardcore/punk/metal and a must own for serious heavy music/record collectors. I love it

This book is exhaustive and shines a light on many bands that never get press, and should. Well researched.
